Lost In Translation
Since I haven't quite broke on through to the other side and still have that full time job that some of us are trying to escape. I just want to share my feelings from my side. I work in supply chain management for close to a decade, not a bad gig I guess. But often enough I find myself like the title says... Lost in translation. Why? Simply not fulfilled. Plus, yes I'm tired of the b.s. that comes with having a boss. You know, like politics, salary cap, certain number of vacation days, seniority. I maybe in a good spot within the company, but still feel like there's nothing to gain long term.
Basically, I'm there in body, but not in mind or spirit. Not always easy to try be a positive force in the work place. Especially when you deal with many personalities on a daily basis. Some being great people but many of those being negative. Being in management I can't always distance myself from it. As of late, I spend more time thinking about my business than work while I'm at work. I log onto WA and see what's up if I can lol!
I do what I can to instill more forward thinking values but you will always have people think that the world is out to get them or the "system" is keeping them down. To that I say everyday you open your front door, life is ready to kick you in the balls in some shape or form. Are you going to block the kick and catch em with a left hook or are you going to take the kick to the nuts and go down?
How I stay mentally tough and focused throughout this journey is by looking after my health, which will give me more energy to keep moving forward. Plus, I enjoy it. Also, envisioning the day I can quit the rat race. But also doing something every day no matter how small it might be to reach your goal. My heart and mind may not be at work anymore. Believing and knowing the end result is what keeps the fire going strong.
