I added the Jaaxy search plugin in my sidebar but it seems to be out of the page. Can we resize it smaller to make it fit within the page size?

Hey Clemens,

Have tried this myself in the past and decided to use it in my post instead. However, I do see an option that MIGHT work for you. See screen print below...

Having tried % I know that does not work... thus my suggesting your trying pixels instead.

Please DO let me know if this works for you... or not.

Hope this helps you.

I just saw an old video by magistudios back in 2012 on "SEO Checklist CheatSheet". I noticed some tips were not necessary anymore such as you no longer need to ping your websit

I have been in several sub-reddits and they will not allow any link at all. So this is not the way to go, but this may be different in your niche.

I've never done it.

No, backlinking except from true authority sites is a devalued strategy. WA even used to have it's own article directory, Street Articles, so that members could backlink from there.

Thank you Rich. That post by Kyle asnwers exactly my question!

Fantastic! :)

Thanks for that info, Rich. Shame Street Articles is a thing of the past.
So if we put our website URL in our Profile Page, as we're supposed to, does that make it as a valid backlink?

Yes, although how much of an authority site Google views WA is anyone's guess. :)

I think I'm on a winner there :) Many thanks, Rich :)

Good Luck ! :)

May I ask you a daft question in PM, please?

LOL, you don't have to ask to PM me, and there's no such thing as daft questions, just plenty of daft answers. :)

Hahaha....let me find the right wording for it, thanks :)

Authoring & Writing Content
Updated

Hi Guys, I have recently transfered my site from siterubix to my new domain name. I have created 3 pages of contents and 1 post with some genuine comments from the WA members.

To rank on google, you just need to continuously create good content with your keywords (write as naturally as possible) and increase traffic to your website. Traffic generation can be via social media, email signatory, offer free ebook, and many more. Here are some ways to increase the possibility to get ranked on Google. http://clickwebsuccess.com/how-to-write-seo-content-that-rank/ Hope you find it useful.

Thank you Florence. Very useful posts you have there. I am slowly getting bit and pieces after engaging so many people for advises here. Thumbs up

Clemens,
most things been covered accurately in these comments. However there is another thing that hasn't been covered. When the site is first ranked it's not forever it can be dropped for a while.

Please put any thoughts about site banking out of your head until you have at least 20 articles then you can start to give it some consideration

Noted on that, I just want to be sure besides writing articles what else I have not done :))) Thank you for your reply

I see some mix of terminology. Ranking is always individual for every specific post. Site is not ranked, posts and pages get ranked. Perhaps you are speaking about site being indexed. This is a different issue.

"Genuine" comments from WA visitors are everything but genuine.

Site health has nothing to do with post ranking.

QSR 60 is high for me. Your true competition is USR. You will not rank if you aim so high. The sooner you realize this the better. See more here: Use Fetch option in Webmaster and the post can be ranked in seconds, literally. I have them in 8 seconds ranked.

This is to some replies below: site authority and ranking connection is yet another myth. A post will be ranked in any case regardless if the site is old or new. I have seen this in practice with my new sites with posts ranked on the top page in Google. Your site cannot become an authority if the posts are not ranked, so you have a chicken and egg puzzle here.

Sensible advice

"I have seen this in practice with my new sites with posts ranked on the top page in Google."

You need to use an incognito tab in Chrome or similar to check, your results are probably being influenced by Google knowing your previous search history.

"This is to some replies below: site authority and ranking connection is yet another myth."

It's also certainly not a myth that a new site with little content won't rank on page 1 no matter what the QSR is, especially if the competition for the top spots are massive authority sites. It might pop up very briefly at an initial high rank, but it's certainly likely to drop away quickly after that.

If it were possible to rank without site authority, WA would still be teaching members to build a multitude of one page micro niche sites! :)

Thank you for clarity on some of the misused terminology. It definitely helped cleared a lot. I was confused between QSR and USR, after read your posts "How useful QSR really is" helps me understand completely now. Thank you and will take note on searching keywords in the future

You must be joking, after almost 3 years of publishing posts I am supposed to know how to check rank of a text. You can read about incognito search in my training. It is certainly a myth as I have seen it in my new sites started last year, and this happened immediately and not once, so with 10 starting posts I had 7 on the top page. In fact I still have a proof: an abandoned site with no texts added for almost a year, top ranked as it was.

I know the stuff about initial ranking and dropping after that, everybody knows this, no need to speak down to me that way.

I am not here to discuss WA teaching policy, this is not my business. So do not be so firm in your statements, they are baseless.

Thank you, much appreciated.

Yes. I'm sure in a niche about Pink Martian Gerbils, you would certainly would rank high and fast with any old rubbish, not so much in a highly competitive niche such as Make Money Online, which is the one Clemens is working in.

Oh, and I'm more than happy to be "firm" in my statements, because I at least know what i'm talking about! :)

I recommend you have a read of this: and this:

Do not you have your own published reference to show?

I'm happy to quote your own, "For example, you can have just a few authority (or eCommerce) sites on the top page when you search with QSR, and from this you get to the conclusion that you can rank easily. However, in USR you can have 5 times more sites of that kind, so ranking to the top page may be impossible." :)

This is very much appreciated.

You're asking the wrong question as this is out of your control.
Concentrate on building out LOTS of quality content with some targetted keywords and the Google rankings will take care of themselves.
Good things take time :-)

Agreed, good things take time. Thank you for responding John

Pleasure Clemens :-)

I'm afraid Google isn't going to rank you according to QSR results until you have established your site as an authority in your niche. Just keep following the training, adding content to your site, preferably a couple of times a week and it'll soon happen. :)

Hi Rich, thanks for responding. I like how you put it, until my site is an authority of my niche. Thanks again

You're most welcome! :)

It usually takes a few days...

Site health is just a monitoring tool here, that doesn't affect anything really with Google. Same with the site trust, it'll go up every month by 10%. Just keep adding content to your site every week and that will help out with your overall Google rankings my friend :)

Thanks for your reply Biggsta. Just want to be sure i did not miss out anything that i need to do.

No problem at all, if you need any help going forward here, please don't hesitate to ask. Have a great one my friend.

After picking the right keyword for my niche with keyword tool, should this keyword appear as many times as possible in my content? Will this improve google rankings?

No, absolutely not, if you "keyword stuff" Google will view this as a spam signal and you will never rank.

You try to use a single, relevant but different keyword for every page and post you create for your site. You put it in the title and first paragraph and write naturally around it.

For example, one of your keywords for an orchid site might be "prune orchids", so for one post the title might be "How to prune orchids" and the first para might contain, "The best way to prune orchids is...". That's it!

If your content is 1000+ words, you might want to also put it in an H2 header.

I was under the impression we should be putting 2 or 3 different keywords into our posts.
