Some very cool tools that will save you a BUNCH of time !
Thought I would write a quick post and start a list of some of the cool tools that I use a lot and have come across.
I will add more as I come across them and when I find the time to add them.
BTW I will be using this as my own rolodex of sorts so if anyone has any suggestions that they would like to put on here by all means please put them below thanks in advance.
Tags and Categories
// -- NEW -- //
I have been helping a few people inside WA with their structure and set up and a common theme is confusion regarding the difference between categories and tags and how to link them to blog posts...
On that basis on the bottom of this page the is a very simple diagram that makes a LOT of sense on how to correctly structure categories and tags.

Shrinking Images
TinyPNG.org– Shrink your png images while preserving quality and transparency. This is just amazing resource !
Shrink-O-Matic– Dramatically reduce the file size of your images. This is important because Google place a LOT of emphasis on page speed -- combine this with a good CDN and your images will load lightning quick.
409 K Original
76K shrunk
Ok that doesn't seem like a lot but if you consider the dimensions are 1216x800 i.e. meant for high resolution retina screens it is magic !
I can't say enough about this little Adobe Air application
Domain Names / Ideas / Headings
NameStation.com - For those who are having trouble coming up with a domain name this site allows you to create a contest and have hundreds of people think up ideas for your domain name.
IdeaOffer.com – This site can help you get some cool ideas for almost anything and the best part is you can get paid for helping others with their ideas.
Headline Generator - Create engaging headlines, article titles, and subject lines on demand.
Any Ideas one more please let me know

Must admit, I tend to resize images on my pc before uploading but the other tools are pretty neat
I tried that Shrink o matic last night got a really high quality image from 409 K to 79 K and it was 1216 x 800 ! I'll see if I can post the two
Great stuff! Had not though about, nor even considered the issue of page speed and images. That is a great suggestion.
Thank you Chris. I already bookmarked this post. Very useful information. Great job! Blessings.

These are definitely some nifty little tools, have bookmarked them as I'm sure I will be using them shortly. Thanks
One that I use is called Handbrake.fr which does for video files what Shrink-o-matic does for image files! Enjoy!
