The Best Place to Seek Ideas on MLM?

1.8K followers

In recent months, I have read a number of articles that threw cold water on Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) for a variety of reasons. Personally, because I am interested in promoting multiple income streams, I do not condemn any source but like to weigh the pros and cons.

I have a MLM business, which is going quite well. I am also aware of some MLM outfits that are less than authentic and their ethics are questionable.

I am in the throes of reviewing a number of MLM businesses and would like to reach out to the community here for your support through personal experience, if applicable. However, not sure if this should be a question or a blog, hence the uncertainly.

If you have had personal experience of this; good, bad, ugly, please share your thoughts or PM me. I am grateful for every information I can lay my hands on.

Thank you in anticipation.

Chuka :-)

Never had any luck with MLM. Friends kept far away until I told them that I am no more in it.

Lol Achuthan! Was it that bad? Thank you for sharing your experience with great humour as well.

Chuka :)

Hi Chuka
I respect your opinion about MLM. For me, MLM is a business of half-truths. By reading the Ebook MULTI-LEVEL MARKETING UNMASKED, my eyes were opened to that business.

I know people who have good attitude and aptitude to develop a business, for example, online business and earn Income, now they are wasting time and money developing MLM. I feel sorry for them because some are my friends. They dream of having Financial Freedom and retire. I think we can get financial freedom if we create passive income. There are many ways to generate passive income, there is a lot of information about this.

I think my money should work for me, not to enrich the pockets of others. I feel sorry for this comment, but it is my opinion about MLM.
I respect all those who wish to participate in MLM.

Best Regards,

Rosa

Hi Rosa,

Thank you for your honest feedback, which is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you also for mentioning the eBook. I will look at it.

I appreciate your support and feedback.

Regards,
Chuka :)

Isn't the same true about any business? The corporate world, alike, where people at the top make the most money. It's called business. A Manager is definitely going to make more than the sales associates.

Hi,

That has been my curiosity about MLM because many people dislike it and I wanted to know why because every organisation is a pyramid where nobody else can become the chief executive until it becomes vacant.

My main concern about some MLM companies is among the unethical ones where people are expected to buy the store, month after month and can't even shift their stock. I wanted to get a feel for what people's experiences have been as part of my review. It's not to say that people are not successful in it.

You are right in your summation. Thank you for your insight.

Hi. I myself am in the process of exploring the world of MLM. As everything else you must put in the work to get the desired results. Do some research into Global Wealth Trade; one of the best ideas I have come across thus far. Look it up on YouTube. Let me know what you make of it.

Hi ChefMusic,

Thank you for your feedback. You are right that hard work is necessary to achieve desired results. However, there are some structures that sometimes create obstacles for success no matter how hard people work.

I'm looking for people's experiences in the MLM industry they've worked in. I'm not looking to join a new one although if I come across a great one, I will be more than happy to recommend it. I will certainly look at the one you mentioned but it may not give me experiential information. We'll see.

Kind regards,
Chuka

I never had luck with them. glad you did.

Hi Mike,

From what I'm picking up it seems that 9 in 10 people didn't succeed in this. Still good to know and I appreciate the feedback.
Chuka :)

have tried to many with the same result not good all the best Max

Thank you Max. The statistics are looking interesting :)

I have tried a few different ones out there and really had no luck! I am glad you found one that works for you.
Sheila

Hi Sheila,
Thank you. Yes, I think it is because of the way it's structured.People get drawn to the products without pressure to bring people in or attend conferences that cost money. I will talk about it more in the review pros and cons.
Chuka :)

I have tried a few but was never successful. I could never get anyone to sign up under me.

Hi Joy,
That's a common trend especially if people are paying out more than they bring in. It's very interesting to me reading these comments. Great eye opener. Thank you.

Years ago, I was with Amway.
It was difficult, though, one had to buy half a store of products just for the Having Customers level.
And it was always expected that one bring new people into the organization.
You had to attend seminars regularly, and they weren't cheap.....!
If you showed up without people the third or fourth time, you were kind of ignored.....

Also, the years when this worked well have passed and gone.
These were the 70's and 80's. At that time, availability of the full range of possible products for consumers, in all known areas of use, was not like it is today, with the great superstores, company chains and--- the Internet!

One could still develop a special product, of which no marketing, (and certainly not such as today, with complete saturation and globalization) , had yet been built up.

Yet they are still trying to grow their business and their referring scheme.
Funny, however:
The "Emerald Status" people are still emerald and struggling to meet their needs. The diamonds are still diamonds, the rubies are still rubies.....

No growth....
And almost no customers, because everyone loves to shop, or to sit down at their tablets and order something....

I'm sure there are many sincere Amway'ers still out there, plodding away, but they're trying to ride a dying horse across a desert.......

Hope this helps you, Chuka!☺☺☺☺

Hi Therese. Love your saying - trying to ride a dying horse across a desert - ! Makes my day! Jan

Thanks Therese for sharing your experience.

Hope it helps you, my friend...
Don't forget, its just a personal experience......☺

Very interesting Therese, thank you very much for this detailed information. I remember the company got into trouble a few years ago about alleged pyramid selling?

Thank you for your time in sharing this.
Chuka :)

I'm not sure what happened, but I can imagine!

My pleasure to share, Chuka!☺

Hi Chuka
If its working for you, you are one of the lucky ones!
Almost everyone I know who has tried one has had a similar experience: you pay out more than you ever get. It was just like that for me! Good luck, Chrissie :)

Hi Chrissie,
Thank you for this. Would you like to tell me more about your experience (privately if you prefer)? I'm reviewing MLM and would like to contrast my experience with other people's.
Much appreciated.

I have been in many MLM 'schemes', and made money, lost money and broke even (barely). To me MLM means 'Many Lose Money'.
If you are in one that works for you, don't leave it for another one that may not do the same. I know all about that trick. Pie in the sky is more like pie in the eye.
Hope this doesn't discourage you, but it is what it is when dealing with MLM's.

Thank you Big. I wasn't planning on leaving the one I'm in (love it!) but I am looking to review the MLM niche, hence my question.

I like your acronym lol :-)!

Thanks Chuka. I've been with WA for 4 months now and love it. Check out my site and have a great time here in WA.

Hi Ian
I like your phrase "Many Lose Money". That's true. On MLM Business, many people lose money and few win money.

You are so right, Rosa. I have been in 13 different MLM's and lost or broke even, barely. One of my cousins got into one that puts out a phenomenal skin cream regimen. I love the cream and use it myself, but I didn't join because I'm tired of the MLM life of mandatory meetings, pressuring others to join and just the plain old BS.
He moved up quickly in the plan and won himself a brand new $64,000 Lexus after just 5 months. Good for him, but I'll stay away from all that hullabaloo.
