Stick to a Routine-Do Not Get Discouraged!
OK, guys, look...especially if you are doing the "blog thing" for the first time; it is completely normal to get discouraged after a week or two of working hard and seeing what you deem as little results.
Earlier in the week I posted on here about 10 Steps that I take immediately after posting on my blog at Hanf's Hanger. This is very important. Do not stray from that routine. Post to your site, then promote, promote, promote. Feed the beast!
It's a slow, slow process, but it builds. And builds. Blogging and looking for a QUICK payday, don't usually go hand in hand. It requires patience and hard work. That's why it's easier if you find a niche that interests you.
I am a huge sports fan from Boston. About 8 years ago I started a sports blog and through the channels that I talked about on here in my last blog post on WA, I built and built. That led to a webshow that was on youtube, and eventually I met someone on Twitter, we were following each others blogs and he got a job in New York working for a sports website, and he got me a part-time gig.
After that, life happened and I got married and had my two little princesses. I had to at that point back off the blog work and just concentrate on my 40 hr/wk job in Boston.
Now, I am back and I'm focusing on Men's Apparel (shirts, to be exact) and I love the change. I've always loved clothes and this is a new challenge that I want to succeed in. And I believe I will.
In summary, do NOT get discouraged. POUND THE PAVEMENT. Stick to your routine. Research things. It's a slow grind, but if you keep working, it will pan out.
