Home Safety
I believe in safety in the workplace as a good tool to keep everyone safe and able to go home in one piece. One thing I do not see people talking about as much is your safety culture at home. When you are at work and sitting in these meeting trying not to fall asleep start thinking to yourself, how do I apply these to my daily life and family lifestyle? There are many at home incidents that can put people out of work from falling of roofs and ladders to getting struck in the eye or face. So before you start that lawn equipment up or drag out that old beat up ladder to clean the gutters take a minute and think about the steps you can take to prevent at home injuries that not only hurt you and your family, but your coworkers as well. Just remember to ask yourself is it worth me getting hurt just to get a few chores done quickly?

Great advice. I agree---it's far too easy to forget about safety at home, and we often bypass common-sense safety precautions just to get a task done. But it's not worth it if we end up paying for it with a visit to the hospital and a long recuperation time. Thanks for this reminder!
