This post is based upon some interesting profiles I've read here on Wealthy Affiliate today.

First off, I have to preface my next comment- I'm not creeping (I swear). I just want to know a little bit more about the person I'm having a dialogue with. Secondly, maybe they have some insight that I can glean from their profile.

Okay, so now the shocking statement- I have a habit of clicking on a member's profile when they leave me a comment or reply to a comment I have left in a discussion. Like I said, I'm curious about the person, not just there comment.

It's a habit I've had for years on social media. Interestingly, it's allowed me to establish a connection with people and increase my number of followers. More than that, it's increased my level of influence.

So, first lesson learned being social within social networks works.. Go figure. It comes down to the building of trust.

Secondly, there is a ripple effect. As I was following one member, other members began to follow me. When you make one connection, there's the fringe benefit of other connections because one person brings along all of the other people to whom he or she is already connected.

So, influence one person deeply, and you influence the others around them. And, yes you must do this through honest, meaningful dialogue. A simple "thanks for the follow" doesn't cut it.

For example, when I introduce myself to someone I comment on something that stands out in their profile.

One member had this long list of so many hobbies and interests. It was amazing to me because this person has to have gained so much knowledge from these interests. And, oh so many great stories to tell.

And, that level of knowledge is going to translate into great content.

I know that many starting out here at Wealthy Affiliate are afraid of writing content. Yet, they don't have to be. It's as simple as telling a story about something your passionate about. lt's being upfront and honest about what is important to you.

Everyone always tells you to write like your writing to a friend. You share with your friends on that deeper level because of the connection you've made.

So here's my takeaways:

  • Get to know you're audience by talking to them.
  • Delight in your common interests
  • Commiserate in your common pain points
  • Tell them the sotry of your experience to connect with them
  • Share the solution with them honestly
  • And most importantly, remember that you have tools available at your fingertips

What are these tools?

  1. Your story- the knowledge you've gained from your experience
  2. Your social connections- you've got people here at Wealthy Affiliate to help and back you up
  3. Your ability to connect- we're social creature. You already communicate deeply with friends. You just need to translate that into writing for your audience

It really is that simple.

By the way, thank you for what you share in your profiles. I've gleaned so much from it.
