Amazon Associate Again
After ringing Amazon Associates phone number one of their helpers told me it was okay to open a new account with them after the first was cancelled due to no sales. So I gave them a new email on their associates site and reapplied for the new account (for a different website) and bingo got a new affiliate ID.
Hope this helps others out there who wish to have another go and being an Amazon Associate. May advice would be to first get healthy traffic then apply.

Wow I had no idea they will cancel you if you have no sales.. how long of no sales till they cancel you?
I think it's 180 days from when your associates account is active. If you don't already know Click Bank charges a fee if you haven't made sales after a certain amount of time.
In a way I understand why Amazon and CB have these criterion as it's costs them money to keep these accounts active.
