Which Brand is your computer? I am asking this becuase you can remove that battery and works with the ac adapter!

I saw your computer has 4 years so in the buttom of your computer you can find that Battery and try to remove it. :)

I hope you can get it sorted quickly!Else a desktop is usually cheaper, but not as versatile!

Usually laptops will work without the battery if you have it plugged. make sure you save your work often because a bump of the power cord and your laptop will shut right off without a battery.

I know how you feel. My battery died about a week ago. I had it for about 3 years. Right now I am using my husband's laptop but it's not in the best of shape either so it could die soon (hope not though) There are places to go and use a computer though like the library, that is one of my favourite places. And I don't know when I can get it fixed since food is my first concern especially when it comes to my 12 year old daughter who is always hungry.

Hi - you could get a replacement battery - or a powerpack (so you don't need a battery) - those would cost far less than replacing it.

I expect you've already thought about that thought. I've tried using WA on my phone - wasn't easy, but is possible (if you have a smart phone or tablet)?
