Taking the First Steps into a New World

Change! It's something that some of us embrace willingly and openly and others avoid like the plague! I've tended to be in the middle somewhere, most of my life, leaning toward the latter. Now in my 40s, I'm looking back and I'm pretty sure that tack hasn't been the best for me most of the time.

As a result, I've decided to take on a new mindset. One that forces me to get into different things, work on embracing change and hopefully learn to love the unexpected (or at least deal with it better!).

One of the main areas that I'm looking at is changing careers. I know. That's a BIG change! That little voice inside my head keeps saying, "Why don't you change something smaller first and see how you do?" Well, I'm more of a "Go Big or Go Home" kind of guy so here we are.

I have learned a few lessons over the years, however, that makes me shy away from the complete jump off the cliff. To do that I've decided to "test the waters" first by starting something WHILE I still have my current job. The way I figure it, it forces me out of my comfort zone, while maintaining a safety net.

Given that my desired path is not something I have a vast amount of professional experience in already, it gives me a chance to make mistakes, learn, and build a reputation within my new field without stressing out about whether I'm going to make any money or not. If I make money, great. If not, I'll readjust and try again. The point is to not give up and continue pursuing a life that makes you happy.

So, I'm looking forward to learning everything I can from all of you here within the Wealthy Affiliate community so that I can make changes that pay dividends in the future. Here's to CHANGE...Cheers!
