I inserted my Amazon Affiliate link in my post? I am trying to figure out how to line up the link picture to the right of my text. How do I do that? I can't see where to format

If you are using Amazon Site Stripe images, and the block editor, it is not easy. I have some instructions from when I figured this out. If this is the issue, I can try to help.

OGM, I've been stuck on the same issue for weeks.
Can't seem to find solutions.
Thanks

This may have been covered in below tutorials However, Phil has a point.

Thank you

if you click on the image then you should see the formatting menu - click on hte one that looks like right - or click hte pencil icon and select alignment right
the block editor the menu is floating or at the top.

are you referring to WP or Site Content?

Sorry, please ignore the above, got to be WP.

add an image - then click on it and you get the menu for alignment
click on the right align and it moves to hte right and text wraps around
if necessary you can now drag it up and you see the cursor placing it at the ends of the lines of text above
some themes don't so be aware of this as well
have fun
phil

Thank you for taking the time to do this.
It has been very helpful.
I know it will also help someone else also.

Cheers

no worries
glad it helped
phil

I thought I did that, but will play some more. Was able to move the image, but the text wouldn't align.

The image is coming from Amazon also. Not sure if that makes a difference.

it should do
what theme are you using

Both really, since us couldn't get it to work in either place.

doesn't make a difference - once you add hte image as hyml and go back to the normal view the image acts as a standard image where you can set where hte alignment and hte alt text and caption

Are you using classic editor or Block?

Hi Pam,

Just from my experience so far and still learning things here and there, I'm not too sure about how fast images load on either site, but there are pros and cons to both programs and you would need both to optimize your site.

With SiteContent:
-Can search for free images from an image bank
-Unable to work with html codes
-Cannot put a featured image (basically attaches an image to your post on the home page; otherwise, it is just all text on your homepage, having some visuals make your site more attractive)
-Dragging the images around here may shift things around more drastically

With Wordpress:
-Does not seem to have that free image search function
-I would have to find the image on an external site like Pixabay (or save one I like from SiteContent) to upload on Wordpress later
-You can add html codes like "Amazon image + text codes" here
-CAN put a feature image
-Dragging the images around here do not shift things around too much (a little bit more user friendly)

Recommendations:
I would work with SiteContent and do everything you need to do here first. Search for all the free images you would need here and add when possible. If unable to add them in the way you want, save the ones you want (i.e. for featured image) on your desktop to add on Wordpress later. I would say put more emphasis on Wordpress since that is the final platform you work with that will display all your beautiful work (and yes, sometimes the images you add on SiteContent do move around when you get to Wordpress).
Regarding publishing first and then posting pictures, I think either method works.

Caution:
If you are an Amazon Affiliate, double check all your images by going to that page as if your are a visitor. Click on every single image to see if an affiliate link has been randomly attached to it. If there is, you might want to remove it by click imaging and editing it.
I recently found out that Amazon might ban people from the affiliate business if "promoting" something else different from the affiliate link picture. SiteContent sometimes randomly attach your images with whatever link you add to that post. Wordpress sometimes isn't as cooperative when I try to remove the link from the image. It could be a glitch from the switch to the new WA format.

Hope that helps! (And sorry if that was way more than you asked)

Thanks for this. It's ok you gave me more. Helps a lot.

Pam

Glad to hear and you're welcome :)

I do everything directly in WordPress.

That is how I do it

That's what I do but I'm a newbie and it may not be the best way. It works, though

Totally up to you. I do place them straight in WordPress.

May I add, if you have chosen the imagery already in Site Content, I'd place my images in a document and publish it to my site. it will be added to my WordPress media library.

Then you can also do them in WordPress back office.

Thanks,

Pam

That's what I have been doing, but just started to question if it makes a difference in site speed.

Pam

Hi, do you Kraken i.e. making your imagery optimized.

I don't know how to deal with the notifitions behind the bell. The number isn't really correct. I can't just see new notifications, it seems to show all or some.. They don't go

Nope, I have the same issue. And like you I am just ignoring that notification. Kyle has set up a bug issue post. You may want to add your issue to that post.

Thank you Leo.
