Making a career change
I have been a member of WA for about a month now and I wanted to share my story of what brought me here and why I intend to make the most of this experience. In my career I have won many national awards and yet it doesn't make you immune to getting laid off when your employer sells out or the company you work for gets bought out. All it does is put a bulls eye in the middle of your back. Competitors come after you with a vengeance, if you make one misstep the new boss sends you packing so that he can cut payroll.
During my career, I traveled 50k+ miles per year for over twenty years. The 70+ hours per week, the late nights and weekends. Sounds fun right? Not so much. My personal life has been on the back burner for a long time and I am sorry to my kids everyday. When I made the choice this last fall to go online, write my books, write some blogs; something miraculous happened to me. For the first time in many years I feel at peace. I have been sharing my story and getting many followers who actually seem interested. One cool thing about the Wealthy Affiliate network is this place has shown me how to make money telling those stories.
If you haven't been through the trainings, please do so. They are great and you will find that when communicating with other people here you will enjoy the conversations that much more. I can't say enough about how my sponsor, Nathanell, he has been super supportive. My grandmother always would say to me, you will know when it is time to act on your dream and when you do, don't hesitate!
Best wishes to all my WA friends and collegues.
Charley

It's ridiculous to work that much for someone else. I'm glad you got out (though it sounds like you were pushed out)! Much better lifestyle working for yourself even if you work just as hard because you have more control and you have more potential upside.
They treated me well. I just got old. Lol
