First off a little about me. I'm 67 years old, been retired for 5 years, and now live alone with 1 dog. My wife of almost 41 years passed away 23Jun2013, 3 weeks short of our 41st anniversary. She had cancer and surgery the year before, but died from complications with a failing heart. I have 3 sons and a daughter. Each is married and I have 10 grandchildren and 1 great. My youngest brother died 2Sep2014 and later that week I came across Wealthy Affiliate.
More than a couple years ago someone sent me an email that said he would create a website for me. All I had to do was choose a domain name and pay for web-hosting.The domain name is still registered with Tucows. My first web-host was Purely Hosting. After I had purchased the course, "Eric's Tips", in one of his lessons he told of a special offer that they were having at Host Gator, so I switched. Someone else online was telling of an even better(cheaper) hosting company, but after nearly a month of attempting to transfer my site, it always failed. Host Gator said they would help with the transfer for a small fee but then there would be no money saved, so I did not change. And once again I recently signed up for another year on the Host Gator Baby Plan.
My website is charliescomputerupkeep.com. I still don't know much about Word Press and how the outline of my site came to be. On it there is a small section on maintenance. I tried to get the domain charliescomputermaintenance.com, but it was already taken. After hitting suggestions, I liked that word as well. At first I went with Matt Garrett's Computer Defender and Blog Defender, but there was a small problem and at times I was locked out of my site's dashboard. I have since purchased Spyder Spanker which limits the attempts from hackers at "logging in". Almost everyday I get emails that a URL has failed to login.
I started using Advanced System Cleaner on my computers. Then I purchased Zone Alarm and System Mechanic. Since I use their products I was intending to somehow advertise for them and earn a little money. Also on my website I have Secure Scan Pro by Paul Clifford, a plugin to make my website more secure. And I purchased his software program Local Lead Boss, but I have a hard time remembering all the steps and terms to website management.
My computer is over 4 years old now as my wife and kids got me this present the year after I retired. At the moment I am typing on my youngest son's laptop because it has a bigger screen. He had Windows 7 on it and it always froze up. I had Vista on my machine and already had re-installed it twice, so I installed it on his as well. Lately I have lost WiFi on both computers, so now each has to be connected to the router. Luckily I still have the Internet.
And now my WiFi is working again. I needed to run an update on my Zone Alarm application, but somehow I was running the wrong program, so I had to uninstall it first. Before I installed the new program, all the networks showed up that I could connect to, and now, all is working fine.

From all things which occured in your past, Wealthy Affiliate may turn out as one of the best. i sense from your writing style that you will benefit from taking the several courses over here and participate in our community where you will find honest and most helpfull people.
If you follow the guidance presented in the courses and you will focus on your goals there is no other way than to succeed.
In the beginning things may seem overwhelming over here, the more sicne you mentioned the fact that you are not quiet familiar with setting up and maintain your wordpress site. Wellnow, here you will find all the help to succeed in all these things.

Actualy, you did a great job over there. The theme is simple, yet quiet effective which increases it's usability and that is a great thing. It is cristal clear what the site is about and that computer (mainainance) is your main skill (and passin?)
Acutaly there is only one recommendation I would like to share with you.
Your homepage contains an overwhelming amount of text (articles). I think maybe in your wordpress settings your will have defined to show the latest posts or so on your homepage.
I would like to recommend to create a static home page in which you describe (briefly, but effectivly the website. What one can expect to find over there and brand yourself as the expert to the subject of this site. Since you have a very good menu setup as well as a good sidebar people should not find any difficulties finding their way around.
However, this is just my opinion. Maybe there are more people from our community who would like to comment on this?
