Bing Webmaster Tools verification step 2 not working? How I got it to work. (august of 2019)

sorry I didnt add screen shots, if you need more clarity on something let me know and I will see what I can do.

so go to the bing webmaster tools verification process. if you have trouble putting in your URL, input it as https://yourdomainnamehere.com (thats how mine appeared in my browser anyway)

i used step 2 of the verification process but slightly different than Kyle's video.

try the plugin recommended in this article

the plugin is called "Head, Footer and Post Injections"

So go to "Plugins" and then "add new" and search that one. For me it was the first one. Install and activate it.

Then go to settings (on the side bar of your wordpress dashboard) and in the settings menu there will now be something that says "Header and Footer" click that

go in there and paste in the code that looks like this

(copy paste that from step 2 of bing verification, not the longer form code thing, just the one liner)

into the first box, titled PAGE SECTION INJECTION

Then of course update/save your settings and go back to bing verification. Click verify. At this point, for me, it worked.
