After I write a post and I go to my home page of my website there is a blank space beside the post. I have noticed on other sites there is a picture in that area. How can I put

Good question. Isn't it great to be working with so many people who are willing to answer our questions?

In WordPress where you write/edit your post, on the bar on the right side of the page is a section titled "Featured Image" - you may have to scroll down a bit to find it. That's where you add the image. Click on the (?) icon to read about what size the image should be.

Thank you for your help!! That sure did make it easy and it looks a lot better on my home page now.

Chad

Glad I could help, Chad! Wish you the best!
Mike

Where exactly is the black space? In the sidebar area or just right of the text you added for your post? If it's just to the right of the text you can always use the tools in the edit mode and add an image to the right or left of the text.

It was on my home page to the left was the blank space. I have it now by using the "Featured Image" in my post. Thank you for your reply!!

When I look at my dashboard in Google Analytics under reporting there is an area that says bounce rate, what does that mean?

Do we get payment receipt ( T4 ) for 2016 from WA ?

People who visit only one page on your website, and without any click leave again, the lower the bounce rate, the better

Ok that makes a lot of sense now!! Yesterday was better than the day before so that's a little encouraging. Thank you for your help!!

Chad

You can lower your bounce rate by adding multiple internal links to your posts, so people are tempted to click those and go to another post of you

Thats correct you want viewers to look past the first Paige there hooked at that point

It is the number of visitors on your front Paige that leaves without previewing any further

Thank you for your answer!! So the lower the percentage the better. That's what I was trying to figure out the percentage. That helps me out now.

Chad

It's the time a visitor spends on your website. The longer the better.

Thank you!!

I'm writing a post and I was wondering while writing the post, is it okay to name one of your affiliates in the post? Ex. The best place to purchase this product due to price o

Having the name on the content is okay. It even helps to have the product name in the title of your post or page if it is a review. That helps with traffic.

Thank you for your response!!

Chad

I think yes. This is the best possible way to monitize your site. I my self I prefer to include link of site were I am an affiliate. You can as well mention other affiliate your the sake of you visitor as a service to them even if you do not get rewards for that. But also you can campare two affilites of which you are a member. Come up with the best at the close. Chances are you will benefit from both.

Thank you and that is what I was thinking about monetizing my site. I have banners of the company on the site. I just wanted to make sure it was fine to use the company name,

As of right now my niche is baseball equipment and gear, should I specialize into on area of baseball or is equipment and gear not to big?

What about Little League baseball gear or some such smaller niche, whatever you have the most knowledge and passion for?

Thank you for your help. That is the way my site is leaning towards. More like youth baseball equipment and gear.

Chad

Instead of an answer, how about another question to ask yourself:

How many items are there that are considered baseball equipment and how many are considered gear?

(I am asking not telling because I am not a baseball kinda guy.)

Are there more than ten? You may be looking at too many things to treat properly if there are...

You will want to offer something of a review about at leat some of them, so leave enough room for a good representation of them.

Mickeyb

That's the way I was asking the question and you helped me answer it. There are a lot more than 10. That's why I got to thinking I needed to get it smaller and I like what you suggested.

Chad

No problem; It's what I do. Mickeyb

I think you answered your own question. Since your niche is Baseball equipment and gear... then it should be about baseball equipment and gear. Am I not reading your question right?

It should be about baseball and the equipment and gear it'll need.. that's what I mean.

You were reading it right and it is about baseball and gear but there is a lot of baseball and gear in the game of baseball. That is why I was asking the question because since thee is so much equipment and gear in baseball should I concentrate on a few things in baseball equipment and gear.

Chad

Hi Chad, I feel the niche is good in itself. I don't think you need to narrow it more down. It's best to have a wide range of products to talk about and promote. You can organize your website into sub-niches using categories. You can create a category like "baseball equipment for kids" and add that to your menu, and when people click on that menu, they'll see all the posts for that category (as you will make sure those posts have that category checked off).

The niche you have is perfect I feel. :)
