A summer vacation in Scotland!

Scotland is known for it's beauty, great people and fantastic views. Well as a tourist that's what they love about it. However, as an Expat now living in The Netherlands I have found a new appreciation for my home country.

Since lock down been here in March I was basically stranded here wondering what I would do. Well I made a plan. The plan was to build a small internet business which has started and write content. Of course the writing content part has proven to be a bit tricky. LOL I have a 9-year old daughter who I love very much and we have made some great memories together this summer.

Last year it was Disneyland Paris and Holland for two weeks and this year Scotland! nothing special or so I thought.

Don't Panic

No Scottish people have been consumed by sharks! This was a relic shark in a place called Deep Sea World in a small place called North Queens ferry in Scotland. It is a place that has been here for over 30 years and a place I have admittedly never visited.

I don't do fish nor small places ever! However, as the true Scottish weather has proven to be wet wet and even more wet as the days go on I found myself wondering how to amuse a 9-year old. So I fed her to this fine bunch of fish. LOL

Just kidding I decided to keep her as she is too much fun. Being a dad and sharing such good times is one of the many benefits of being a parent for sure. The Parana fish were pretty awesome too.

Time Out

We all need time out from daily life and by spending two weeks with my daughter not only do I feel recharged but also ready for the next chapter of my online business. Yes time out helps you to reflect on what's important and what you want in life.

Today we visited a place called the Secrect Bunker near St Andrews in Scotland. It was an amazing experience one which I had forgotten about as it has been over 10 years since I last visited. Well here I am here with my daughter and we had such an amazing time looking at everything from a time that seemed like it was so long ago. The 1950s. Yet it`s not that far back really as my mother is a child of this decade and I am amazed at how the world has changed in her lifetime.

Then I think and reflect upon what has changed in my life, such as mobile phones, the internet and the introduction of social media.

By taking time out it helps us all get the creative juices pumping. Mine are in full flow as I have been back to adding site comments for the last two nights to get some credits for my next project.

Nothing Is Easy

Starting out when you have no money isn't easy but there is always a way if you have the will to make a change. When I started this journey back in March I had no money and little time with my daughter. Now I have a little more money and a lot more time with my daughter which has allowed us to enjoy this summer together.

I have heard lots of people complain about how bad this year has been well I am sorry to say that all things considered Ive had a great year.

Yes I have found good reason to smile again and that is that I have found my true reason why!

It is not something we all think about but we should. I am very guilty of thinking about mine then being distracted. However, my daughter has taught me to keep it simple and not to worry.

She is correct! when it's not a drama then things go good for sure. So there is so much we can learn from our children.

Goals & Setting Them

My bad habit is setting a goal and maybe doing it part-time. Now I have a 9-year old checking in on me everyday I find that my excuses don't ware even on me. So I started to take action by doing one comment a day and that becomes one more token for me to get feedback. That one comment helps a fellow person move up the rankings in Google to get that sale.

That one comment helps me to become a better writer as this is not something I`m very good at. BY doing these small steps I have build a nice part-time income from the internet and now I am in the position to buy my new laptop.

All because I took action with baby steps along the way. My goals were as follows for this summer:

  1. To have a great two weeks with my daughter. (achieved this)
  2. To earn money online. ( achieved this)
  3. To Buy a car. ( achieved this)
  4. To buy a new Mac book ( Achieved this in 5 days Time)

When I set these goals I was unsure if they would work. But it worked as I believed they would and onward to the next challenge now.

To get 300 WA sales to attend Vegas in 2021.

Keep It Simple

This little lady has made me think that if I keep it simple and dream big and use a good plan of action then anything is possible. By having a simple vacation on a budget it has shown me that my goals can be achieved. My fears can be overcome and best of all I enjoy my life, plus family time.

Great post, Craig! I had one of those red belly pirhana in the 80s. His name was Ed. I still have him mounted on the wall. He died in 1992! He is stuffed and is 9" long!

I'll take a picture of him when I am at the eBay house!

Jeff

Thanks Jeff. Yeah they are pretty cool fish considering how aggressive they are. So Ed has made it to the hall of fame then 😂😂
