Spam thats offered in Disgise
As, new subscribers come into my site, they make a new section just for them. So as I got spammed last week, through my website. A catagory popped up by itself out of no where, who put it there? Amazon wanting me to sell stuff? Spammer adding in his own section in my website? Or is someone tryn to make money from my site. So.... as I looked into my site, I realized it had a new user, @spambog.com .
As I wonder if maybe it came from host gator tech dude that just helped me a few days earlier, I realized that in my site is where they got my card number.
After some research, I found spambog is a site where they never need to check their inbox and its offered to spammers to have a fake address to make fake accounts. Not so nice of them, I don't even make an income from that site, I bought an ssl for it, have security in it, scans daily for spambots, and still they got my debit card!
So now, I would like to tell new people, where to put words into your site, so that certain names get blocked from making spam names. Settings-Discussion--- under section to block potential words, comments or users from coming into site.
I don't know how well it will work yet, seeing how the only users have been spam thus far.
Here are some words I have found to be bad for a website and I have blocked and perhaps you should too:: Quaker, rss, guerrilla, mailinator, mytrashmail, fakemail, to name a few.
Now, will that work? hopefully. Oh and one more thing, ithemes security locked me out of my own website, no crap, I had to get host gator to help me. Also emails users from alice.it are from like Italy or another country over there.
I'm not narking, there's like 50 words you need to put into your site discussion area. Just a heads up ! Good day!
