Is Community and Chat Needed or Valuable?

Hello My Community, (my extended Family). I wanted to write this blog for a while now because there is something that has really bothered me. I will get that later when I talk about Chat. First, I want to talk about Community.

I am a dictionary person and always have been. I looked up the definitions of Community and there are too many listed to post here. I did laugh when I found this definition." Community of interest, The preachers and the bootleggers found they had a community of interest!" But I prefer this definition, "The team that is drawn from all parts of the community."

Simply put, The Community at Wealthy Affiliate are YOU AND ME. Community is all of us, old and new. Those who come here and become part of us. The great part is, it does not take long for a "Newbie" to become an old member.

There are those who come here with a free membership and decide not to stay. I have never heard one of them say, "They did not receive help, support and assistance from community." That alone, says a lot about our great Community! See, the last 5 letters of this word community is UNITY.

I see the pay it forward attitude of the community, but I also see the unity. Unity in a goal and purpose. We all have a goal and purpose for being here. I would really hate to think, what Wealthy Affiliate would be like without the Community we have!

Community is a living, breathing entity here within Wealthy Affiliate. It is made up of all members. We all have the same dreams and goals. We all have the same problems. We all face the same challenges-separate and together. WE are all human.

My kids say,"Since you joined Wealthy Affiliate, You are married to your computer." Of course they are kidding and they are grown. I do spend more time with Wealthy Affiliate then I do anywhere else. It is my business that I love, and what I am passionate about.

I was so relieved to find out from the Community that, I am not the only one who works my website in my sleep. But as many in the community say, "What is Sleep?"

I call Community, my extended family because it is. I am very honored to be a part of this Community and Family. Wealthy Affiliate has all the tools we need here to learn, train and be successful. It would never be the same without a community that shares it.

I said at the start I wanted to write this blog because there was something that really bothered me. So now I will talk it and talk about CHAT.

CHAT AND COMMUNICATION

I had a conversation a few weeks ago with a friend here on Wealthy Affiliate. They informed me that I was wasting my time being in a chatroom. They found no Value in the chat room at all. Their opinion was, Too many people were wasting their time in chat rather than learning or working to make their website better.

I respect the person and their opinion, but that is not my opinion. Any successful social media today will have "Chat." It is not optional it is a NECESSITY. When any new starter member joins, they are instructed to come into chat and introduce themselves to the community. (That is NOT a mistake).

I see great value with the chat room. We have a good SUPPORT system here. Support always stays busy and sometimes it takes a while for them to work on your problem. Here is my value.

1. I know I can go to the chatroom and get INSTANT HELP from community.

2. I get one on one personal help from the community in the chat room.

3. The owners are there on a regular basis to help and update members of changes.

4. Information and training are transmitted instantly in the chat room.

5. I learn so much from other members with their help and suggestions.

6. I am able to take advantage of older members' knowledge, skills and abilites.

7. I receive a lot more personal help and attention from those in the chat room..

8. Ask any "Newbie" how important the chat room is?

9. I make friends and meet new family members in the chatroom.

10. You can depend on those in the chat room to be there for you. Those in the chat room are available when support is not.

The bottom line for me is this: The chat room is INVALUABLE just like community.

It is great to take a break from writing pages or post and relax in chat. It is great to see what others are doing and how they are progressing. You meet others in chat that you would not normally meet here on Wealthy Affiliate.

Yes, I do have fun and laugh and joke in chat. That is what makes a family. I do not mind talking about what I am having for supper. If I am wasting my time then I will only say, "I paid for the privilege".

I would hate to have an emergency and dial 911 only to get a message that said, "Press 1 for English, and 2 for Spanish and so on. We all hear that too much today. You can never get hold of a real person.

My friend has the right to believe and train any way they chose to. My opinion regarding chat is different. I highly value all the resources we have here at Wealthy Affiliate. I find great value in my community, and the one on one, personal touch in the chat room.

I am thankful that the chat room is here, even for those who do not use it. The time may come when they will need to and it will be available for them also.

I think most of you will agree. I hope this blog will help you appreciate ALL that we have here at Wealthy Affiliate, especially our community and chat.
