I realize time is precious. If you are not inclined to read through all this prattle, please just scroll toward the bottom here and help me with the Web Of Trust issue.

This one has got to be easy!
Oops! After reading this lesson, I came to the realization that my niche is excessively BROAD! (over the top broad!)

Jill of all trades, Mistress of none!

This idea (I thought I had) is super extreme!

Some words that come to mind when contemplating this situation are:

Backwards (putting the cart before the horse)

Rebellious (have to do the exact opposite of what is recommended or taught)

Nonconformist (the need to follow my own way and disregard what others have to say)

I'm a sponge and love to soak up as much information as I can about as many different subjects as I can. I don't even know what I may be interested in next. The things I know I'm passionate about are whole food nutrition, organic gardening, sustainable planet, alternative energies, self help and self preparation (in the event of a disaster or social collapse), all types of DIY things like, woodworking, sewing, etc. (just to name a few.)

There are a few things that I've heard about that do not peak my interest in the slightest. Some of these are: most sports, movie trivia, politics, religion (although I consider myself spiritual). I guess what I'm trying to say is, "I don't care to debate or argue about things, but have strong convictions on the subjects I'm passionate about."

When I was a young girl, I didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up. I did know that I did not want to marry or have any children. But what to do for a living? Life has blessed me with everything I have ever wanted and I have no regrets as to how it has turned out. Now I am getting this awesome opportunity to enjoy a second career of my choosing and learn how to market my passions. One can't possibly consider this a JOB or WORK!

Maybe I should go to the Boot Camp lessons and promote the Money Making idea instead?

I also have a problem with that route for now, BUT I know if the members on this site would help me, we can tackle that one, too.

Start here if you can or want to HELP!

Here is the question I had posted yesterday in several different areas on this site and am still waiting for an answer soon.

I want to make an announcement and need your help in how to go about it correctly.
I have no doubt in the world that this is the best place in cyberspace to learn about Internet Marketing. Otherwise, I would not have paid my dues for the last nine months, if I had no faith in the program. I have been online trying to eke out a living for almost ten years now. About five years ago, I ran across a site that showed me almost everything I was trying to promote (at that time) had shady and/or questionable ratings in their dealings with the general public. That site is called Web Of Trust. You can find it at www.mywot.com.

Here is my question. How can I go about begging our fellow members to visit this site and put in a good word for Wealthy Affiliate without breaking the guidelines in the membership area? (by adding links to the blog)

Before reading the rules here, I intended to put this in my first blog entry, but now I'm not sure that is permissible.

(Addition to original question) Here it is in the first blog entry, after all.

Hope it is alright to do this?

I refuse to promote anything that has less than a green light, even though I realize there could be extenuating circumstances that might cause a site to have an orange or yellow light. I just don't want to confuse folks when trying to explain it and do not wish to bend my self-set standards. There is no reason for us to have a yellow light and this should be easily remedied with the help of our current membership base.

As soon as we get up to a green light, I will be promoting my arse off.

I hope to see all of you at the Convention in Las Vegas this year!

What an interesting post! I LOVE reading your description- what a colorful person you are! We are kindred spirits in many ways. I hope you find the answer you're after- I'll be curious to follow to see where this goes. Is WOT still up and running? Do they do something similar to WA?

Thanks for your kind response. We are on an adventure second to none and I'm so glad to be a part of this community (as well as your friend!) In answer to your most recent questions: yes, WOT is an active site and I don't know if WA has anything like it here. It would be something worth looking into and developing eventually. Although there is a referral link in the WOT members area, I choose not to use mine, since that is not the purpose of this blog post. I only wish to get our community up to a green rating, as it deserves to be. By the way, there are other similar sites floating around, like Webutation, TrustWave and Dr.Web, but I personally like WOT the best. As long as they don't give me a reason to be dissatisfied with their service, I have no reason to look elsewhere.

WOT is a site that has helped me avoid scams while in cyberspace. The way they acquire their colored signals (like traffic lights, that I used to call donuts. You would have thought, me, being a life-long professional driver, would have picked up on this sooner), is the general public rates different sites based on their user experiences. You do not need to be active in their forum to gain the benefit of users ratings. When you download their software/widget (it's considered an extension) on your computer (I don't know if it works on other more mobile devices like tablets or cell phones, but imagine it does), it places a colored "icon" on your menu bar. Depending on the site you visit, this will change colors according to what the majority of active users have to say about that particular site. It also places these signal lights in your email messages, which has saved me countless hours sorting through that mess.

As you may imagine, there are very few green lights. I was surprised to find a porn site that had a green light. Of course, it wasn't good for children, but every other aspect of the site was above board. They did what they promised to do, which was supply porn to their users, without the threat of viruses or malware, as is common with most of your porn sites. Now I'm not that into porn, but I was curious enough to do some research to discover this. There are a lot of yellow (caution) lights and plenty of red ones. You will also find many sites are not yet rated, which causes them to have a white light with a blue outline.

Here is my point! Most of us KNOW Wealthy Affiliate is the best. We have the power to change the undeserved caution (yellow) light to a shining green one (just by visiting Web of Trust and adding comments to their database!) I don't know how many folks feel as strongly as I do about this issue, but probably a bunch. I made up my mind years ago that I would not promote anything less than a green and will not waver on this high standard for myself. And there is no reason WA does not have a green.

It would benefit all of us for this to be fixed. I want to thank everyone (in advance) for helping with this to get our site up to green and keep it there.
