Swear Jar To Change Your Mindset

Hello wealthy affiliate world. Today I wanted to bring you an old concept but with a new twist. You all know I am big on mindset and positivity. These I firmly believe are in the top two things we need to have in order to succeed. Not just here at wealthy affiliate but also in life.

So this is a mindset exercise with two objectives. One is to save for a goal, The other is to completely change your negative beliefs you have about yourself,one in which you doubt you are capable of achieving. That is just how you think about money.

There’s no need to completely adjust your lifestyle in order to save for either a short or long-term saving's goal. You can achieve your goals. Welcome back, the slightly modified swear jar!

What is the Modified Swear Jar System? So sometimes we swear because we can as adults. Not stopping you there! You’re old enough now to know when it’s appropriate and when it’s not! Besides, it can be a good way to release a lot of tension.

No, our modified swear jar is going to be a bit different this time it is going to be the adult version of “if you THINK of a limiting thought about money, like “I’ll never have enough” or “I could never afford that”,or here is a good one I have sometimes "why do I bother I am always broke anyways" I am sure you can think of others.you drop a dollar into the swear jar”. Any thought that binds you or limits your ability to think of a better way to make or grow money, is your “swear word”, forbidden from being thought about ever in your household from now on, otherwise it’s a dollar in the jar!

You’ll be very surprised at how many times a limiting thought like that occurs in your head per day. You may even be able to fill up that jar in week!!! Or a month…

The Pay Off

With that money, you will use it towards something you wanted to invest in. That can be an investment in yourself, as in a course to study or even better an investment in yourself to start a business like you learn here at wealthy affiliate. Or in an investment fund to watch that money grow even more. This goes along with what another wealthy affiliate member Roope wrote earlier Buy Things That Make You More Money Whatever will contribute to your growth.

So Why Do This

This gives you a visual that will allow you to see just how negative you can really be about your ability to make money. Once it comes to surface, you can do something about it. Once you start to recognize the negativity towards money you can learn to turn it around. You will stop limiting yourself. You will start thinking about money differently in time your sub conscious will start focuses on how to attract more funds instead of limiting and repelling it.

Like the image above we all at times feel like we are just burning our money. What if instead we stop limiting our beliefs about money and start growing it. What if we stop wasting money.
Now you may be placing a considerable amount of money into the jar at first, but it will motivate you to ramp up your efforts as you can visually see your saving's mounting.

This exercise though it may seem silly comes down to creating a healthy mindset. You have to have a healthy mindset in order to reach and overpass your goals.

What Do You Do When The Jar Is Full?

Simple - Reward yourself - Invest in yourself- Continue growing your mindset. Write down a positive thought about money everytime you have a negative thought about money.
