Marketing Challenges with Novel & Invisible Products

My niche is about sound frequencies that are used to improve health, mood, personal habits of humans and animals. These frequencies are typically downloadable mp3 sound files. My explorations with these began when using them to help one of my wild cats with cancer. Thus Catladymori has become my brand. The nature of these products present some marketing challenges. So this article is meant to show some of these challenges and see what my fellow affiliate marketers have to say about them.

Credibility is the first challenge as in “What? Sound can make people healthy? Yeah, right.” I have profiled a number of developers who are physicians or other professionals with products selling on Amazon and elsewhere. And in any given blog article I try to address credibility first, quote professionals and explain the science. Nevertheless, some developers exploit the “woo-woo” angle (yes you too can learn how to astral project) and on their website that draws attention away from other products that I may want to promote. I’m thinking here of the website where astral projection comes up first but I’m trying to promote a frequency that seriously relaxes mind and body immediately.

The credibility issue can get even bigger when developers begin working with quantum physics concepts. As one of my co-workers observed, if you understand it, some consider you crazy. On the other hand, practitioners of meditation and biofeedback typically respond well, recognizing some of the experiences and concepts of their practice.

The other big challenge is images. How do you show a sound frequency? I have used a number of videos related to the topic of the post. I can grab a screen image of the graph of a frequency produced by my tone generator software. When acupuncture meridians are involved there are some available images out there. But in many cases, developers themselves use images of swirly fractals ( also see soundofstars.org). There is free fractal software out there and I even have some around the house somewhere, so I guess I will be experimenting with that.
