Create a Popup Signup for Email Form with ChimpMail
I'm not permitted to create training at Wealthy Affiliate yet. This is for those who like to know how I create a popup email opt-in form for my website. All you need is 10 steps.
1. Create an account with ChimpMail.
2.Go to List under the List tab to create a list. I create it under my site name Aromatherapy Healings Newletter.
3.Go to click List tab and your will see your list name. Click your list name. You can see that there are no subscribers.
4. Click the Signup Form tab. Then click Subscriber Popup.
5.Now you are in the Design tab. Choose your layout.
6.Click the Content tab to change the Body and Footer. You can add link to the Footer if you want. You can also add an image here.
7.Click Setting to chose the Popup delay time.
8.If you are satisfied with the form click Publish button at the bottom right hand corner.
9.Click view code besides it. You will get a code to paste on your website. Click the top right hand corner button to save the form.
10. I don't want it to appear in other pages so I paste it at the bottom of the most current page. I will move it to the next page every time I post a new content.
WALAH! There you have it. Only 10 steps. Setting up a popup opt-in email page is not difficult after all.

This is very helpful. One question though when you say "I paste it at the bottom of the most current page" you mean your last post, isn't it?
Yap. Go to text tab in you wordpress and paste it at the bottom. I'm not sure whether it will come up when visitors go to every page. I will definitely promote the latest post so I will have to move it to the latest post every time I publish a new one.
Yes, but it would be nice to have it at the end of every post I think. I guess we have to experiment and see what works for us. Thanks!
I think then you'll either paste on every post or that you are going to have to get a plugin.
Yeah, the problem with plug ins is they slow down your website and create more problems. I am not ready to deal with those yet!...
I joined up later than you and have done two tutorials. You should be able to. I am bookmarking this for future reference. It looks like good step by step and logically written information.
Very nicely done Cathy, though the only popups I don't usually click away from are the ones in the corner or in the sidebar.

I already knew about creating a form on an autoresponder (MailChimp, in your case), having done it a few times from Aweber and TrafficWave.
I was less sure about copying the form code onto the WordPress page. That was part of my query. It should not have been, because I've copied a/r code onto a/r Lead Capture Pages before. Duh!
What I really didn't know about was the timing delay. Now I see that it was built into the MailChimp code. You can't do that in other autoresponders, and it never crossed my mind that that's where it happened.
Brill! I know how to write the code without an autoresponder, and I have a plugin that creates Lead Capture Pages with a pop-up delay, so what I will do now is use the plugin to create the code then copy the code to my page.

One thing is I try to keep plugins to a minimum. If I can do without then I'll try to avoid it as much as possible.
