How to build Momentum to keep moving forward
1. Know that momentum takes time to build.
One of the easiest mistakes to make is to “set very high goals from a resting start.” Dreaming of fame and fortune before even taking the first step is just a bit unrealistic and puts the pressure on.If we set the bar too high and then fail to make the grade it becomes easier to stop altogether.
If your goal is to run a marathon of course you start with training to run a few miles first.
It is no different with a business whether it is online or bricks and mortar.
It’s important to set small, realistic goals at first. Challenge yourself, but don’t overdo it. Setting achievable goals, and experiencing incremental success will help you build momentum and confidence.
2. Work consistently towards your goal. Block out a suitable time in the day to work on your project.
Marking out a block of time specifically for your project will ehlp to keep you focussed on the tasks you set out to achieve especially if you are juggling other work or family commitments
Don't wait for the time to emerge organically.Be the master of your day and set aside the time you think you will need to do the things you need to do in order to move forward with your project.
3. Work on your project every day. No seriously, every day.
Studying people who are consistently successful it becomes clear that many of them have the same drive for success but also they work incessantly.Sometimes 7 days per week.They are focussed and each roadblock is a challenge to get over.
Making the effort to work on your project every day builds it's own momentum and things do get donw.
Occasionally, something will knock you off course, and you won’t be able to work on your project that day. But if you’re striving to push it forward every single day, you’ll stay on track regardless.
4. Once you really get some momentum going, don’t be afraid.
Anyone who’s ever been downhill skiing knows about the scary flipside of momentum. We yearn for it, but we’re also afraid of taking it too far. What if we start going too fast? What if we get out of control?
Don't be afraid of success.It is exciting and it is scary but it comes with many rewards.
Don’t hold back. When it comes to creative execution, the key is to get moving, and keep moving.Be brave and have faith in what you are doing and trying to achieve.
Believe in yourself and grasp the opportunities that you have with both hands.
