I'm one of those "D___ Yankees" that went south for a visit and never returned home! I've lived south of the Mason-Dixon line since 1988 and have been in NC since '98. My passions revolve around fabric: quilting, embroidery, sewing. I've been sewing since I was a teenager: for myself, my kids, my grandkids. Then at age 61, I made my first quilt and I WAS HOOKED! It was for a nonprofit group called Quilts for Kids. Volunteers request a package of pre-cut pieces, assemble the quilt and return it to them. They the give the quilts to children with life-threatening illnesses or those who are victims of abuse. I now consider myself a "Fiber Artist" as most of my projects are more decorative than functional. I have been a nurse, gardener, friend, mother, and grandmother in my lifetime. Now I plan to add "entrepreneur"!
