How to Improve your SEO - A Starters' Guide
Hey guys. First of all, I need to let you all know that as a fellow WA member, I love writing, and am pretty much terrified of site maintenance duties.
However, I came across something by accident when I needed to do an update on my site, and I really wanted to share it with all of you.
When we start with WA, Kyle recommends we use the All-in-One SEO plugin. It's a good plugin. Partially because of the way it provides us with a format where we can choose the title for our blog posts, and create a custom meta description.
The All-in-One SEO Plugin? Really?
If you go into the All-in-One SEO menu from your site admin page, then go to
'General Settings', there is a sign up window for the Semper Newsletter. Semper is the company that developed All-in-One SEO, and if you sign up for their newsletter, they will send you a link to a free guide for improviing the SEO on your site.I loaded it up and read it, and I used the advice in the article right away. The article I wrote most recently got indexed in about 2 days.
There are some of you that have had articles indexed in as little as 10 minutes, I have heard, but I am still pretty happy with this result. Some of my articles have taken several weeks to get indexed, so this is a pretty significant improvement.
5 Basic Steps - That's it! - Yep. I like Simple!
What I like most about the article from Semper is that is goes over the BASICS first. There are 5 easy to implement tidbits of advice that will be the most effective for a new SEO hacker like myself.
Of course there is more to SEO than these 5 simple tidbits, but I really don't want to get overwhelmed. That does me absolutely no good.
I don't know about you guys, but I have looked online a bit for SEO advice, and most of the time these site throw a massive article at you with 25 steps or something to mastering SEO.
An SEO Master overnight? I doubt it.
That's when I completely shut off emotionally and look for another web site, only to find that most of them are pretty similar. They want to establish themselves as authorities on the subject matter, I get that, but it's just too much information.
So if you want a simple primer that can IMPROVE your SEO, not MASTER it, go ahead and check out the Semper article.
It's a great little resource, and it was right under our noses all this time.

Not to be nosy, but did you make most of your untold riches promoting WA, or with your niche?
I have been thinking lately that I really need to start a second site, and promote the heck out of WA.
Your thoughts?
I haven't but I plan to since everything you write here also has your affiliate link embedded in it! A lot of people make a decent recurring income promoting WA!!

Electronic Combination Deadbolts is one. MMO with WA, another, E-books on Amazon another. All my sites aren't doing well because I'm not working on them right now because I'm busy with book writing and my physical locksmith business! I'm also planning on doing a doggy site because I have a Great Domain name I want to use!
Is yours just MMO or do you also have another niche?
I'm doing nootropics right now, but it seems pretty flooded.
I'd like to promote WA, and I was thinking of doing something with natural honey.
I've heard whisperings that some honey farms are using poor practices, and for a few extra bucks you can get a really nice product from ethical farmers.
They probably aren't organized enough to offer an affiliate program though.
Hmmm.
I'm sure that you'll figure out some way to monetize it though, you just might have to think outside the box!
