The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins With One Step

My husband and I plan on taking a trip to Europe next year. I am looking forward to being at our destination. To me, that will be the pinnacle of the trip.
I remind myself, it will be a journey. There will be several lengthy flights before we arrive. Many steps must be taken. We had to plan the trip and purchase the tickets before even beginning the trip.
So it is with our journey here at Wealthy Affiliate. We had to plan to go on this journey. Once that decision was made, we have many steps to make, each one at a time.
Looking at my website, I realize how much I have accomplished. There is plenty more work ahead for me to do. Many questions I have to find answers for. But each step must come one at a time.
That is how great it is here. Kyle and the team, have laid the lessons to build on each other. Following them one at a time, and voile, a website has appeared!
I am eager to discover the next step. How to make this monetize itself. I have my own reasons not to rush through this. I do want to get it set up properly. How long it will take, I am not sure. Is it possible for this to purr along on its own? I am here to find that out.
This website is geared towards Baby Boomers. I am feeling my way through this in 'trying to help them keep active and healthy'. That is something I am dealing with, and I know others are as well.
Once I have achieved success with this website, I may try another one. Time will tell. It makes good sense to do the first one well before trying a second one.
Short-term, I will see how long it takes. Right now we still have one steady income coming into the household. Long term, I would like to have it making me substantial retirement income.
Any of you with experience, I would love to hear your thoughts. How much constant attention does a website need to still make a good income?
