Business Cards

Hi There. I would like to get some business cards printed and would like some feedback on what I have put together. I have a book of real estate clients that I will be sending a newsletter to and would like to mention my new venture and add a card. All feedback is appreciated! Thanks. Just a note, the printer said he can remove the white box around the computer and make the blue bleed into that area.

Like the colors you have chosen for your business cards, but John is right.....you need two business cards! :)

k. Thanks.

John has some great suggestions for you, I agree as well. :))

You have two business cards in one. I think you would want to focus your effort on one or the other.

Here are my suggestions based on what I know about printing.
Move your graphic and name over to the top right.

Remove the "Online Entrpreneur..." line. Your double stating what you do with the next line.

Enlarge your tag line "Helping build websites..." line and place that in the center. Under this line choose one web address and place it under the tag line in slightly smaller font.

Move your contact information to the far bottom left and include a professional email address.

Change your font colors to a higher contrast color. Remember that some people are color blind and will not be able to read your cards information. Red or yellow would work, but I suggest you use a designer color wheel to find what works for you.
Here's why I recommend the suggestions. People read from top left to bottom right. You want the most important information in the top left and bottom right. Most irrelevant (forgettable) information is lower left. Your message is in the center. Your action is center and/or lower right.

Take a look at newspaper advertisements and advertising flyers. Junk mail is excellent source for study material. You will see the basic same rules applied.

And so this is why I asked. Thank you.

Hope it helped, or at least gave you some ideas to work with.

Best to you and your endeavors.

I am a bit confused by your instructions. If people read from top left to lower right why, according to your instructions, do I have nothing in the top left? Did you mean to have me move my graphic and name to the top left and not the top right?

Your card has your name centered. You would want it moved to the left. Then move the graphic from lower right to the top left.
This way the name and graphic (or graphic and name) are the first thing the eye hits when looking at the card.

I've changed the graphic above. Is this what you mean?

Your close. Let me see what I can do. I'll PM the results for you.

Excellent.

I have the card done. I'll have to place it in my dropbox account. Then I'll PM the link to you.

What I did was changed the background so it pulls the eye across the entire card.
Set the computer behind your name to create a slightly dramatic effect.
Changed your colors up so they contrast and pop. Used different fonts to again attract the eye to different areas.
I created a drop shadow behind the web address so that the eye holds in that area a bit longer, while also giving it a slight attraction as well.
