The Dream

For 5 years I have been dreaming about making a living working from home. This dream is not because of disliking one particular job. I am by nature, a traveler. I have spent 25+ years living and working all over the world - struggling to find English language jobs and also learning other languages. When I lived in Asia, my perfect tropical paradise, I started wondering if I could achieve my dream. Over the next couple of years I tried various ways to make money in my spare time, like EBay shops, taking surveys etc. etc. They were fun but time-consuming and income was too variable.

2 years ago I landed in Barcelona and got a job but the dream persisted. I was investigating Affiliate Marketing, but the idea of building my own website was too much for me. Technologically challenged would be an understatement. My Smartphone outsmarted me all the time! I regularly shouted at my laptop because of all the things I didn´t understand.

Look and You Will Find!

I discovered Wealthy Affiliate after doing a lot of research. I was now convinced that I found a community that I wanted to be a part of, I appreciate the Free Membership, it made it easier to join. Enthusiastically I raced through the first 10 lessons and realised I didn´t really understand, my siterubix website was a mess. I was truly stuck!

Thanks to everyone who helped me and encourage me. I decided to re-do all the lessons at a slower pace and amazingly, It Worked!. I actually have a website now and haven´t shouted at my laptop for a couple of days now. There are still things that I don´t understand, that I probably should, but I will get there.... I think my biggest block was my fear of all things technical and IT related.

I´m still envious when friends tell me how easy it is to build a website or use an App but now that I am no longer impatient and willing to learn whatever I need to, there´s a new determination which will lead to confidence.

The Niche

A-Ha, this was easy for me. I have been so passionate about finding a way to work from home or anywhere in the world that has a good internet connection, what else could my niche be? I started my first website workfromhomeeurope.com and have listed a lot of methods to generate income from home. In Europe, we are slower at joining the ranks of home workers as compared to the States. I wanted to give some relevant info to all my European cousins here. I hope to be able to send many happy people to Wealthy Affiliate to start their own journey.

My Story is Unfolding

I have bitten the bullet and decided to dedicate the whole of 2018 to my new career as an Affiliate Marketer. No matter what! I have downsized and have a budget in place for the year. My friends tell me that this is such a risk I am taking, but I have a strong feeling inside that I am on the right path. I am excited and happy and working hard.
