Exactly one month ago I stumbled upon WA while I was looking for something else. Funny how when you are ready to see something, there it is. I have been interested in an online business for a while, but had never found a place where I felt comfortable, where I wasn't constantly being upsold.

I tried something like this once before, but after my "free trial" I couldn't do much unless I spent thousands of dollars. There was a fee to access the site, there were limitations to what I could actually do on the site without spending more money to upgrade my account and I was supposed to take it on faith that the business that was being sold was right for me.

It was smoke and mirrors.

Then there was the coaching that cost many thousands of dollars. I watched one of the free coaching sessions and most of my time was spent listening to the "coach" pat himself on the back for his wonderfulness. (Is that even a word?)

The conventions are held in exotic places and again the costs just piled up. And the worst part was, these folks running the business assured all newbies that success could not be achieved unless you did all the above and spent a lot of money for knowledge.

Okay, maybe I'm a little jaded, but I thought there had to be a better way, and I passed on the opportunity to spend my life savings in exchange for knowledge about how to make money on line, without any information about how it worked.

So... when I found WA I was very skeptical. I signed up for the free one and within about three days was so impressed with the quality of the information here that I became a premium member. However, I was still waiting for the other shoe to drop. For the "upgrades" that I couldn't go forward without.

While I am not very good with anything computer, and have many times found myself going around in circles to figure something out, and despite the fact that I am desperately trying to learn a new language, one that, by the way, makes no sense to me much of the time, I have persevered. I have created a website that I am really proud of, and while I am unsure that my niche will ever make me any money, that's okay. Because I can replicate it. Build something better when I decide to.

I also didn't realize how much I knew about my niche. The words just flow. I will look at something I have written and am amazed that I have created it. It has given me a boost I didn't even know I needed.

When I say that I am not very computer literate, I'm not kidding. Up to this time I have only used Facebook to find out what others in my writing groups and artist groups are doing. I'm not on twitter, Instagram, or Snapchat. I don't really understand Pintrest, and only rarely find myself on Etsy, even though as an artist I should sell there. This is going to change. Better late than never.

I have found myself in a very strange world, where I have to look up the meanings of words, go around in circles and find myself hyperventilating in frustration from time to time. But I am learning. And I am going forward, and interested in growing my business and my websites. And as I looked at my motivations, and at the fact that the fee for WA is a great discount when paid annually, I guess I'm here to stay.

Yay me!

Great post, good job.

Yes, learning to build a web-based business has been a real challenge for me also in that I do not understand a lot of the language either. It keeps changing so fast. But like you I will continue to learn.

I love to hear the determination in your post. I feel the same way!

Happy you're here. There's so much to learn, isn't there? Focus on one social media site, and get the hang of it, and then check another one out. I so hear you on the hyperventilation. Been there many times myself!

Thanks for the encouragement and advice. One thing at a time is my mantra. Once I overcome the frustration that is.

Hello and congratulations on your one month anniversary. We joined about the same time and I'm really impressed by your progress. I'm going a little slower as I fit my new business plans in with a huge amount of other stuff that's going on in my life at the moment. Like you I'm really impressed by the culture of WA, the training and how easy it is made for us to set a site's up.
Will be so interested to hear how your progress continues.
Best wishes.

Good morning! Thanks for reading my post. I am probably a bit ahead of you because have been looking for something like this and have the free time to pursue it. However by the time I'm done thrashing around it probably takes me longer to get to the same place as you are.

Have a great one!
