I'm really thinking about selling one of the websites I started through WA. It's in a niche I do not particularly love and it already has a great start of articles on the site.
Hi - it's no different from selling a website created anywhere else. There are various platforms you can use, as you can't advertise it to other WA members. However, you are not allowed to transfer it until after 60 days have elapsed since you bought the domain, so it would be wise to wait until then.
That's a huge amount of content in a short space of time. Are you hiring writers? Do ensure that all the material is original and nothing is copied and pasted.
I did not know how easy it was to get the website off this platform and if anyone has ever sold a website from this platform
We are not allowed to advertise our services on the platform. It seems that you recently registered your site (reading Diane's notes), it has a grace period. Until then, you cannot do anything.
Later you can transfer it to a new host or ownership by fetching the EPP authorization code.

How easy is it to sell a website you started on wa?

Exactly as Diane and Abie & AJ have mentioned. You can sell a website via 3rd party services, even on eBay etc. Because WA uses WordPress for its CMS, it is the most popular platform for building a website, and currently powers over 33% of all websites on the internet. You can very easily migrate your website to another web host (the web host choice of your client), or you can offer to host the website for your client. I.e. you could leave the website here and charge your client for web hosting. Or include 12 months of hosting as part of the sale etc. As for the Domain Name, ICANN place restrictions on Transferring a domain name for the first 60 days, and also for 60 days after any contact detail changes. So you will need to wait at least 60 days from registering your domain name until you can sell it and transfer it to a new owner.
I always wanted to know this too. But here is the problem. Providing that I host for the client, how do you sell a website to a client so that the client will have the password to log in to their dashboard for them to upload or download their contents?
You don't need access to WA to allow people to login to your WordPress backend. You just provide them with the Username & Password from within WordPress, and then add /wp-admin/ on to the end of the domain name. I.e. https://domain.com/wp-admin/

I'm currently used my free time today to make a landing page with optin for visitors coming to my website.. None of the themes on the website I'm using allows for users to x ou
You can use a plugin to give people options to opt out. If you want to be on the safe side (in Europe for instance there are pretty strict rules) you could use a plugin for Cookie Notices and one for GDPR notices. Although newer plugins sometimes combine the two.
I hope this helps.
One of my mentors is a big proponent for mailing list and capturing emails from people visiting the site. I might settle for some simple ones at the top or on the side bar. I for sure don't feel comfortable with a landing page that doesn't give the option to x out of .
Mailing lists are a great asset. I’m trying out some optin options too, like you said, in my sidebar and in a banner. And I would never want to keep someone hostage, lol. So they need to give permission for me to add them to my list and at the bottom of each mail there’s an opt out link for easy unsubscribing.

I was looking at my site health on WA and it's showing me at 0% on google index. Then when you click to see my site is the first that comes up?
Is this showing indexed o
Hi - your site has not yet been indexed. Indexing means that Google has found your site and added it to its search engine. This is an automatic process and can take up to a couple of weeks. You will get an email when it happens.
Following on from that, each post you write for your website will be indexed individually.
Eventually, each post will also be ranked. This is when Google decides which page to put your post on, depending on the keyword and the usefulness of your content. It can take several months before a post is ranked.
Ranking takes longer because Google has to check that your content has authority and covers the topic in-depth, which typically means at least 1000 words, and that everything is entirely original, with nothing copied and pasted. Google is not interested in ranking posts that have material already published elsewhere.
Why is my google rank on site health at 0%?
