My AHA! Moment
I had an Aha moment!!! Finally, I could see how this whole affiliate marketing thing works such that it doesn't look like I'm just trying to shill another opportunity. How it could actually work such that I could provide some useful information to my readers, and in the process of directing them where they need to go, have an opportunity to possibly get some compensation for my assistance. Let me explain.
When I first came to Wealthy Afilliate, I really had no idea what my niche was going to be or even how to go about starting. I just liked the idea of blogging, so I started through the training. It came time that I needed to make a site look more attractive, but I really didn't know how to start. Wordpress confused me and I needed help. That's when I stumbled upon the blog www.nyctechclub.com . This site provided me with a step by step tutorial on how to make a stunning website and guided me through it all the way from buying the domain to how to make a child theme to where to get photos. Then I realized every time he made a suggestion on who he used, he provided a link, which had to be an affiliate link. Which meant if I used them, he got paid. But I really didn't mind because he was providing me with something creative and useful. It was a win/win.
So that got me thinking. I have an IT career that has allowed me to double my income in 7 years through self-directed learning. I have garnered training and education all over the Internet. I found the best place to get training on how to prepare for A+ certifications, I taught myself everything I needed to know about network cabling. And I learned quite a bit about web design and networking. How many of my resources have affiliate programs. Turns out, quite a few.
So that's my mission. To use my experience in learning IT to help others do the same while avoiding high cost boot camps and trainings. Right now I'm just continuing the WA training, but hopefully you'll be hearing more from me soon.
