My Story
I've always been a strong critical thinker, and it shows in my poetry. I started writing because I wanted to show others the shining truth of who I am.
As I continued writing, my motive evolved into a lifelong goal: to show others that there is beauty in the world that we might not see initially. We just have to try different perspectives. I feel that I have some very unique perspectives of my world.
I tend to describe things in a way that others might not accept or see, which, I believe, has made it hard for people to accept me. But, with poetry, I can find the words to describe my perceptions in ways that make sense, with the beauty that I see in them.
WHY I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE
I want to help evolve others' perspectives of their world, just as I have learned to do while growing up.
There are instances when I couldn't see the bright side of a difficult situation. By writing, I create a blank slate where I'm allowed to think things over. The conclusion might not always be positive, but I'm given some understanding and comfort that I wouldn't have without poetry.
