What is this world coming to?

Wow, what is this world coming to the way things are these days it scares me having 12 & 14 year old boys. I had the conversation with them this past week about active shooter drills at their school, and I knew this but they have been on lock down a couple times this year because of the crime in surrounding area and if any gunfire happens in the area they go into lock down. I do agree with President Trump on some things and when he said in the past weeks round table that "I do not want my 10 year old son to have to participate in active shooter drills." and I am sure none of his kids ever did or will. The idiocy of arming teachers is asinine, the idea of putting more weapons in schools is not appropriate. To never address at the round table the actual weapons that are really to blame in these mass casualty events is kin to not discussing the lack of food in a famine.

I am agnostic, which is to say I am unsure what happens to the soul, I like to believe that our souls come from and go to a field of light that is more of a collective where there is no longer self. There has in the many years of human existence been religion to try and answer questions that can not be answered. I accept not having the answer, I wish our politicians could have this Philosophy when they look at issues. I do not accept any of the religious beliefs as being right but I enjoy and learn from all of them. There are always 3 sides to every story, unless there is video, the truth can sometimes be found between versions but brutal truth can be hard to come by.

I went out with a coworker tonight that is trying to figure out what her ex-boyfriend was thinking... not to get into the sorted details but I tried to explain to her you never know what is really going through someones head and there is no reason agonize about decisions others make, especially when it has happened already. The past is dead, it can not be undone and like a story the truth of the past can be hard to come by. The present moment is the only tangible thing we have enjoy it embrace in and strive to make the moments of today lead to a better future.
