Speaking of the Devil

Well, I should have held my horses for a couple of days... Just as I was beginning to feel discouraged that my primary site wasn't getting Google indexed, I got not one but three emails saying that my site and two of my individual posts had been indexed. So there you go! Speak of the Devil and he shall appear...in this case, the Devil being Google. Feels right.

I finally got signed up for my first affiliate accounts. I decided yesterday to focus mostly on getting the baby monitors site up and running - it's designed to be something of a finite project so it will be easier to create something that works. The other projects are long-term blogging projects, which will create more opportunities overall, but will be harder to make profitable quickly. Plus, they're more labors of love - I'll be sadder to abandon those projects (I may never abandon those projects, regardless of how profitable they are). If Bluetooth Video Monitors doesn't work out, all I'll regret is a few wasted hours. I'm trying to get through the lessons by the end of next week, which feels ambitious but definitely possible. I've been posting there almost every day, and now that I'm on the section of the lessons that focuses on affiliate links, I feel like I'm pretty close to a "finished" product. Obviously I'll have to keep it current with new models, new keywords, new information just to maintain my Google relevance, but it can go down to much less frequent attention than this initial flurry of posts. (I think...maybe I'll get to the end of the lessons and find out that's not how this works at all in which case...I guess we'll find out just how much have to say about baby monitors.)

That's not to say that the other blogs have been lying fallow exactly! The first one is a side hustle review blog, where I basically do side hustles and review them in real time. It's been done before, but I'm passionate about tracking my journey (since I'm such a serial hustler that even I lose track of what all I've done) so I'm going to stick with it. I've looked over the training and feel like that blog will mesh well with the WA affiliate program training, since I'm basically living out that part of the experiment now. But I'm testing a few others during this week as well, and starting to make some notes marshalling my thoughts on what that is.

I also got a brilliant idea for how to leverage WA into my existing small business, which is my bread and butter but has been needing a significant level-up for a while... But you'll have to watch this space to find out what that means. :)

Anyway, I don't really know what to do with this blog yet, so I'm sort of using it to track my progress - more for my personal benefit than anything. It's so easy to feel like progress isn't being made, it'll be good to have a central location where I can look back and say "oh yeah, that's how this all started out."
