What are we losing as time goes by?
1
I was just reading one of Azrac’s blogs in which she mentions reading to her daughter. I can still remember my dad reading One Thousand and One Arabian Nights to me as a child.
What are we losing as time goes by? Are there aspects from your youth that you remember fondly?
- I miss the old trains that you could still get on even as they were pulling out of the station.
- I miss the Routemaster double-decker buses that you could run and jump on as they pulled away.
(Hmm there’s a theme here . . .)
- I’m saddened that more children don’t climb trees and play hopscotch, and make dens and have ‘adventures’
Progress is great, I love new technology, I just think it’s sad social engagement seems to be dwindling.
Views appreciated:)
Cheers,
Caden

I have to look up that book, it isn't one I know. We love reading, my daughter is 9 and reads a lot herself but we enjoy the time together in the evenings. We are now reading Emily of New Moon....but won't be long until we are looking for something new. Thanks!
I hope you can get One Thousand and One Arabian Nights, it's an ideal bedtime reading book.
I think it was Carl Rogers, American psychologist, who suggested we should still read to each other as adults. There's nothing like a good story:)
