Almost New Year! Cleaning Up Konmari To Spark Joy

Yesterday, I talked about my office space and then went on to do some research for a few articles that I have planned writing.

Stumbling on Distraction

I stumbled upon a video of folding clothes by Marie Kondo on YouTube while researching for travel niche. It was Marie talking in Japanese with English male dub. This introduced to me the KonMari Method.

This got me distracted for a whole hour checking out more YouTube videos done by Americans using this konmari method and actually visit amazon and the official websites to find out more.

My take away

It might seem that I got really side tracked but I actually also studied how this Japanese woman has herself established as an authority, how she is selling, marketing, etc online. Why? Because, it seems to be a model similarly taught here in WA. And seeing theories being made into reality is worth looking into. I might learn a thing or two or maybe even add to my copy cheat sheet.

Think about it the tidying niche is a niche. Yes she had her own products, but it could as well be an affiliate product. She is utilizing websites, social media and videos for her marketing... Anyway the geek in me just had to look at things in business standpoint.

For the NewYear

The other reason that got me interested in it is because of the tidying and the New Year is around the corner.

Usually, December is the time when we sort out old stuff to trash, charity/goodwill and for keeps. Last year or the year before we did stuff toy. You know coming from a first world country I did not imagine I had all those stuff toys around at home. Now those toys are making more kids happy.

Anyway, the konmari method was like zen spiritual way of cleaning up your home. I won't talk about the konmari method more, since there are already a lot of content online like on YouTube about it. So I just want to try it out this year and make it into a lifestyle in 2020. That's my choice.

1 hour a day Clean Up

I started to clean up my closet out first but decided to do 1 hour a day only because there is so much stuff to do that I already planned for. Also, I will need to buy containers to keep things organized and maybe get the charity stuff over to NGOs or goodwill as soon as I have enough to fill the trunk. Hopefully my old stuff can give a merry Christmas to some folks.

So since I am practicing content writing, here are some questions for you.

How are you going to spread the Christmas spirit this year? Have you thought of your next New Year's resolution? Are you constantly thinking business every time even in you sleep (somehow I am that I am analyzing and dreaming business constantly... maybe I am addicted)?
