It’s ok to be proud

A Dutch saying goes "doe maar gewoon, dan doe je gek genoeg", which translates to "just act normal, you'll be crazy enough as is". I love acting normal. Well, my normal. Your normal could be very different for my normal. And that's great.
What I don't like is, that the saying has become a way to tell people to not stand out. The Dutch don't like bragging. Trouble is, that in some peoples eyes, being proud of what you do, being proud of your skills, being proud of your accomplishments, is bragging.
To me being confident and proud, isn't automaticaly the same as bragging. I've heard people brag when I knew how insecure they were about their lack of skills. And I've heard people talk with passion about the amazing things they've done, without bragging about it. Sharing is not bragging. Passion is not bragging.
So please, keep spreading your knowledge, teach your skills, be confident about your wisdom and share your passion. It's how you help me grow. And if you brag now and then... I'm fine with that too. I may tease you about it, but it's okay ;-) Thanks for helping me grow, WA. I hope you're proud of it.
