What is Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising?

It’s an online marketing campaign that you as an advertiser/buyer engage in to advertise your product. As its term applies, you are able to advertise your product on sellers’ websites for a fee every time a viewer clicks on your ad. The good thing is that PPC only takes a few minutes to set up.

As easy as PPC is to establish, the results can be positive meeting your expectations as well as negative depending on a number of factors…either way.

  • Poor quality traffic might not result in conversions or sales and require you to manage your marketing goal efficiently.
  • Always keep your goals in sight. Have a clear picture of your goals and why you chose to engage in PPC marketing in the first place.

  • Stick to your budget. The cost per click should be less than the projected profit it could make.

For instance rather than bid on ’Umbrellas’ as the keywords, you should preferably use more specific key words like ‘Umbrellas for Beaches in the Caribbean’. It’s certainly true that the broad key words may generate lots more clicks, but with little or no conversions.

The contents of your ads should be well written to draw the viewers’ attention as much as possible as in their minds the question, “What’s in it for me” will be answered.
