WRITERS BLOCK

A few weeks ago I had some serious problems, just not able to string a sentence together and those of you that have read my posts would probably agree totally - "YES WAYNE WE REALLY DO SEE THAT YOU HAVE PROBLEMS STRINGING A SENTENCE TOGETHER LOL!"

MY QUESTION: Do any members have experience with Biorhythms and the level of accuracy I can put into them?

ATTACHMENT: As in previous posts and comments, I have discussed attachment to things and I certainly do not attach myself to the charts. I occasionally read the comments.

DISTRACTION: One of my posts, went into detail about when I just had a writing block and I tried all sorts to distract myself from the block. Admittedly, I was working off an iPhone 6 to write blogs, so I was up against it a little. You may recall my post for my distracting tactics - AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY OF THE FOLLOWING FOR DISTRACTION:

DISTRACTION TACTIC ONE - CESSPIT - I thought cleaning the drains out would be "total distraction" - It was and it wasn't, yes it was a distraction but it was more of a DISTURBING distraction. It was smelly and I was smelly for days! I think I still have flies coming out my ears today!

Granted the flies could be mistaken for saw dust? A GOOD DISTRACTION FOR WRITERS BLOCK - NO!

DISTRACTION TACTIC TWO - BEER - The beer was great, it really made me forget, what it was I was trying to forget? A GOOD DISTRACTION FOR WRITERS BLOCK - NO!

DISTRACTION TACTIC THREE - DANCING AND LATE NIGHTS - The dancing was potentially better than the Cesspit and the Beer for my writing block cure - UNFORTUNATELY - It required several beers to get me on the Dance Floor! A GOOD DISTRACTION FOR WRITERS BLOCK - NO!

I DID HAVE A GOOD NIGHT THOUGH - I impressed myself that night!

OFFICIAL WRITERS BLOCK CURE - What worked best - FOR ME

From my own personal experience it was just relaxing with the circumstances. I tried doing my abstract and distracting things and none of them worked.

What worked best for me - was doing exactly the opposite to what I was doing and it was simply being at ease with myself and going with the flow.

The more POSITIVE methods of dealing with WRITTERS BLOCK:

ONE - FRESH AIR - Take the BARK OUT OF THE DOG!

TWO - WALK THAT DOG - Tire that dog out! DOG NOT COMPULSORY

THREE - RELAXATION - Some exercise - Do whatever it takes

FOUR - MEDITATION - Just be at peace with yourself - Do whatever it takes

FINALLY, - DISCIPLINE

"Self Discipline is when your conscience tells you to do something and you talk back"

- W.K. Hope

DISCIPLINE is doing something that needs to be done!

At the top of this post I question my Biorhythms but perhaps it is essentially just a DISCIPLINE issue?

Any thoughts, please offer them below. Thank you for reading.

OR Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps..............................

"PERHAPS I AM JUST GOING DOOLALLY?"

The verdict is out........

Hello Wayne, just rechecking my emails and found this one.
Frist and foremost, I am praying for mommy and her dementia.
As we age this is the outcome for many.

Why? There's no sure answer.

Taking care of a love one that is struggling with this condition can be very fatiquing.

Right now, I know is not a so good time foe you and your writing career, but do keep your head up and do what must be done. Your reward will be extensible.

Now, the choice you make is up to you, I can only help lift you up, and pray for your tolerance and emotional strength.

Right now, you need to get as much outdoors exposure as possible. Have that me time everyday!

Love and do the best you can for mommy.
Have you put in for a home aide to help out, So you can get a breathier? Look into resources that she qualify for. Take turns with
Siblings, if any.

Well, I won't bore you any longer, but just wanted to let you know
we are here for you.

Love Mommy!

Be strong!

Blessings!

Thank you Louisa for all of that!

We have one tough mom, tough all her life and tough to the end! She is not the type to accept assistance, she clearly can't manage alone and is fighting it all the way!

Thank you Louisa for your kind words and thoughts!

Time for me to be serious for a change, Wayne. My mother also had dementia. She wasn't safe to stay in her apt. by herself any longer. Since my siblings and I all lived a distance away, none of us were aware of the difficulties she was experiencing.

She was hospitalized for electrolyte imbalance and told her neighbors not to call me. Well, of course they did. When I went back to IA to be with her, I took my clothes and my zoo (2 cats and a dog) and barged in on her.

I told her she was stuck with me living with her until it was time for me to take her to GA for the winter. (She had spent the winters with my sister in GA since my Dad died in 86.) I was living in Iowa in summer and at home in the winter for about 6 years.

My sister and I shared the responsibility of caring for her. I am so thankful for her so that I didn't have to make major decisions by myself without her input. Caring for her was at times a blessing, and also very sad at times.

Best wishes as you embark on this journey. Will keep you in my prayers, Wayne.

My sister said we are talking Alzheimer’s now! I am so ahead of the rest of you for my age I’m forgetful everyday! Lol

Your experience, will be our experience or something along the same lines!

My mom is my main priority but how to manage everything else in my life will be interesting!

I wrote an about me on my page and google ranked or indexed it, there are forces trying to keep me afloat and encourage me for sure!

I gave up my google office yesterday my WiFi connections will be intermittent - please expect delays between responses!

Have a fantastic one Carol!

I'm so sorry to hear that, Wayne, but not surprised. It's really tough when the person needing the help doesn't recognize it.

My mother's dementia was caused by several small strokes, and we didn't have the difficulty of her becoming argumentative. She remained very docile, and we were lucky about that.

But she was so sad and confused when we finally had to move her out of her own apt. into my sister and my houses. At first we switched her between our houses every 3 months, but that was too confusing for Mom as her dementia progressed. So, my sister quit her job and became a fulltime caregiver, and I became her respite when she needed a break.

Mom always knew we were "hers", although my sister and I were interchangeable as far as names go for many years. Toward the end of her life, she thought I was her best childhood friend, Pauline, and my sister was her sister, Florence. We just went with the flow and answered to whatever she called us. Whenever we took her somewhere in the car, she always asked "Are you taking me home?" It was heartbreaking, but we just humored her and told her "yes."

God bless you, Wayne, as you deal with this difficult stage in your life. Will keep you, your mother, and sister in my prayers.

Have to say I never heard the term Doolally. If crazy...been there...done that too.

Sometimes distractions work. I use video games and fresh air as my go to break time. Unless you are under a deadline I never try to force content. It never ends up well. It's better to walk away and then come back to it when you can get into that frame of mind and then let the creative juices flow.

What usually makes me Doolally is all the interruptions in the house when I am trying to write. When I am in the zone I can produce good quality content. When I am constantly interrupted it is difficult to keep getting back in the groove of my article. Sometimes the peeps in the house will respect my writing time and other times it seems like one crisis after another. Just the way it rolls in my house.

Funny blog...

Hey Frank

Excellent response thank you very much! I can appreciate your situation in a family home!

I will be travelling again next week so my interruptions it will be quite different, different climates, beds, rooms, hotels, jet lags so I will see if I can still be productive!

Thank you for reading, much appreciated!

Home bound, time to be with Mom for a while, she said to me the other night, she can’t remember things.

I think the UK Government allows me Home for another month before they drag me into the system again!

And there’s a wedding I need to attend, a big wedding!!

Sorry your mother is having difficulty with her memory. I'm sure she will be thrilled to have you home for awhile. Do you have siblings?

Hope you don't get drug back into the system unless that's what you want to do. I know you enjoy your freedom.

Please give ol' Harry and Meg my regards and regrets that I can't make it across the pond at this time! And don't worry, you won't jinx them!

Keep smiling, my friend.

Handicapped by American English instead of the King's English, I must confess my ingnorance of "Doolally". Not in a place to comment since I'm not sure of the definition...but if I had to guess, I'd have to guess that it means crazy, or daft?

By the way, Wayne, did you get your invitation to the big wedding yet?? I'm told mine is on the way and should arrive by tomorrow....that and my tax refund!!
Reply

Crazy and daft is the perfect interpretation Carol!

As I don’t have a television I just had to google that comment! I’ve been to enough weddings and when I go, people get divorced, I will not jinx anymore! Lol

Thanks for reading again! Talk soon!!

Fantastic day to you!

Had never heard that term before, but I'm pretty good at figuring things out from the context it's used in. (Most of the time!)

Sorry, Wayne. Didn't realize you didn't know about the big wedding between your Prince Harry and our "American Princess".

I think the term is from our side of the pond but you know me and you put 2 + 2 together! Bingo!

It will be a spectacular wedding I’m sure - fondest wishes to them!

I hope you are ok and well!!

I'm sure you're right that the term is from your side of the pond. Guess it didn't make it over here on the Mayflower! I just might start using it just to see the look on people's faces, though!

It's hard to tell with all the hoopla in the tabloids, but I think they look happy together when I see them on TV. Hope their marriage is better than mine was!

I'm as OK as is possible for an old lady with fibro! Had a terrible headache yesterday and didn't even go to my chorus rehearsal last night. Better today, but still feel weak and shaky.

Hope you're doing well.

Take care, and keep us grinning with that great sense of humor or yours!

Well I hope you get perkier as the day progresses! I could have some of the biggest stresses in the world but I’d rather joke them off until I am confronted with the decision to have to deal with them!

Happy days my friend!

I know you're using your sense of humor to help you deal with the serious stressors you're faced with. I think I use mine that way as well.

We're lucky to have that defense mechanism at our disposal. I admire the way you are able to keep yourself on an even keel and laugh at things when you are facing some heavy duty stuff in your personal life.

I am here for you, my dear friend, if you need to talk. Just send me a PM. Being a therapist for 25 years has molded me into a good listener...and it goes no further!

Have a wonderful day tomorrow, and of course, keep laughing!

Not to go down the Cesspits though. I think you will have good control of your life to manage little annoyances.

I just had to go with the flow, I didn't do a thing for two weeks and everyone was bombing through SWAGG. Quite frustrating.

I don't think you've Doolally, Wayne - whatever that is. You have good points there but some of them I wouldn't be able to follow 'cause....well, I just couldn't. For instance cesspit cleaning is not my thing. Neither is dancing the night away. Although I admit I've done that many times in years gone by. I'll go for meditation and discipline and see if that helps inspire me to string sentences together!!

Thanks for a fun post :)
