The 3 (probably 6) Week Pirate
That's apparently me for the next 3 to 6 weeks.
I will be AWOL for a while as I had a cataract removed yesterday and I have to wait 4 weeks before doing the other eye.
Went into hospital yesterday expecting a GA. HA Ha HA. It;s done while you are awake. What a shock to the system. I have had a minor eye op before and had to watch it all being
done and swore never again. So it was probably best that they never told me.All in all it was relatively painless. The worst was the drip in the hand. After Enter your own correction... feel nothing. That helps but watching your vision blur and then not seeing anything for 24 hours is too much for me.
Having to put drops in the eye every 4 hours means opening the eye and the vision was terrible. I was fairly concerned but this morning, It's now 06:00 and I have sneaked to my PC, when I put the drops in it is much better.
Depending on which eye I look through, white is now white and not ivory and the vision is fairly
good so I decided to write a quick note asking to be excused for a week or three. I will probably drop in intermittently but I need to have the other eye done and possibly have glasses made before I can get back to it.So please excuse my absence and my lack of replying to posts and messages, as I am very. Busy recuperating.
All the best to you all and I (hopefully) will be back on the job soon.

PS Please excuse the one eyed typing! (I lie, I took a test drive with the new lens while the boss is still asleep)! :-)

went to the optician yesterday expecting the same but was granted a reprieve.
You will be a lot better in a couple of days so enjoy the pampering LOL

Thanks Peter. Just back from the Doc and he is doing the other eye in 7 days so in 10 to 12 days I should be back at the PC to work.
I see you are getting plenty of liquids, friend.
Plus you are a cool cat.
So I won't worry too much.
But please feel free to type in your skivvies or whatever, so we don't miss you too much.
I'm looking for a coupon for Dragon Naturally Speaking for you.
Or do like the radio jocks and play some old favorites over again
I'm going to keep trying to come up with more helpful ideas and send those to you.
Rick
Hey Rick, Thanks for the great advice.
Skivvies, Skivvies...that would mean that I have to bend down to put them on and I am not allowed to bend down! :-o
Hi Bryan
Good to hear you are "well". Please look after yourself and follow the instructions verbatim! It is so important. A friend of ours had tremendous problems when he didn't follow simple instructions like to not bend down and to only sleep on a certain side. So please be sure to be good and look after yourself. ;-)
Wishing you a speedy recovery for this eye and for the operation to still come!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)
Thanks Sharlee. I am going to try to follow the instructions, but my Boss will ensure that I do. :-)
