Blog #2 - My progress so far

So, I joined WA back in October. My first (and so far only) website has been live for a while, but I only just made the social media accounts and really started trying to get people to see it a few days ago.
On the one hand I'm really proud of my site. I spent a long time putting it together and making it look the way I want. I think it came out really well, and it's a subject I know a lot about, so I know I can keep the articles going strong for a long time.
On the other hand, I'm afraid I may have chosen a niche that's too small. It's a growing community that I've been a part of for years, and the reception from those in the community has been great. As the community continues to grow, I hope and plan on growing my site to match.

For the time being however, I think I'm ready to start a second site. I'm glad that my first site is one that I have a personal connection to, but I think with my next site I'm going to choose a niche that's a little more broad. I feel like I'm in a good spot where I can keep my first website up to date and continue growing it with a few posts and updates per week, and still have time left over to focus on another site.
Now my only thoughts are on what niche to choose. Like everybody here at WA, I'm trying to find the perfect balance of not so broad a topic that I never get ranked in Google, but not so narrow that I can't bring in enough traffic. My mind keeps going back to the example site Kyle used in one of the early trainings. It was a site all about football snack helmets - a product that costs enough that each commission is significant and will really add up over time. Many people actually search for snack helmets to have at their football parties, yet it's so specific that no other site dedicated solely to football snack helmets exists. I'm looking for something like that.
The next time you read a blog post by me I'll have 2 sites up and running! Thanks for reading and happy affiliate marketing!
