What is the more productive route?

I am still building my website and now have 12 pages and 4 blog posts! All have significant content and I have already put up some affiliate links to products that coordinate with that topic.

I am considering switching over to a .com domain soon, and am hoping that it will help to get my website noticed by search engines now that I have updated content.

I was also considering adding some horse-related cartoons and artwork as my "product" in addition to affiliate marketing. I don't know if that will be a wise choice or not. Does anyone have experience with selling a product off their website? Is it profitable?

A downside to this is upon researching horse cartoons, I found a website that is called "happy horse cartoons". My website is called Happy Horse, Happy Rider! It may look too copy-cat and be too competitive if I do horse cartoons from my happy horse site?

I am also wondering if I should start doing some horse-related product comparisons of brands and such of the like and making those some blog posts. I am not sure if that will be more searched over straight-out informative type pages. Anyone find that doing product comparisons brings in more revenue from affiliate links? Or does it cost you more out of pocket to purchase products to try out and compare than you would make off of it?

Thanks everyone!
