Update On My Progress Sept 1 2023
Hello all
It has been awhile since I posted. Things in my personal life have gotten better then worse then better then and so on. I won’t go on as this is not relevant to WA or this post other than to say … My life has been rocky IRL so everything WA took a back seat for awhile.
I am back to work now. I have 15 new posts and counting. It really does help when you enjoy what you are talking/writing about.
My focus has been on learning/relearning Pinterest so naturally it makes it easier to write about.
There is a lot of conflicting and or outdated advice on Pinterest so finding appropriate sources has been my focus.
I am still learning and I don’t pretend to know it all. Plus, like all platforms, it is ever evolving and you have to keep up with the changes.
As far as my own Pinterest account, it is growing everyday. I have had one pin “go viral”. That is in qotations because it did not really go viral as I understand the word but it has skyrocketed in impressions, engagement, saves, and clicks.
Consistency is the real secret to Pinterest. Yes there are other things that go in to making a pin that people will click on but consistency is the biggest open secret there is for dealing with Pinterest.
Consistency is also key to a successful blog. Seems like there is a theme here huh? Lol
Consistency has been a big problem for me so it may sound lame to repeat but it so true!
If you ever stare at your analytics you know new content does make the numbers spike so I am not sure why that is such a hard concept for me to embrace.
Anyway thought I would check in and let you know I am around and working hard. I am starting to see some traffic again although most of it is from Pinterest or you lovely folks here at WA.
Hopefully Google will stop punishing me at some point. (If you were not aware my site got hit hard by the september Google 2022 update and Bing hated me and my site from the get go.)

Yeah Pinterest is great as well, There's no worries about it getting into discussions etc like on other platforms, and it can be a very good resource for social media backlinks.
Personally, I now have 4,2 K followers on Pinterest, with an average view of 1,04M views per month.
At the moment, I am converting all my Youtube videos to the Pinterest format, which isn't always easy as YouTube videos are much wider than vertical videos, and Pinterest only allows videos up to 5 minutes, but I am already seeing results, the saves, followers and outbound clicks are rising again!
About the September 2022 google update, did this have to do with the spammy backlinks-thing?
Because in September last year, I was hit by Google as well, but that was because of ads from Ezoic, which got my speed totally down, once I removed Ezoic, traffic went up again.
But this year, February and March, I got hit yet again and after talking back and forward with people on WA, I have also decided to have a checkup by someone on Fiver for 'spammy backlinks', because according to him, I got hit by these spammy backlinks last October!
(he showed me a graphic, and it definitely showed!)
So he disavowed the backlinks and ever since then, my traffic is back up and growing again. Although I also updated a lot of old blog posts or even deleted them.
It can be all quite confusing, right?

They are basicly links sent from 'spammy'/dangerous websites, linking back to your website.

I don't know about the spammy backlinks but yes it was the spam update. I just did not know anything about links like that. How do I find these links?

I'm sorry but I had someone on Fiver check everything out for me and to have them removed.
But hang on, I think I asked the question some time ago here on WA and that I got a few answers. I was just scared to do it myself. I'll look for it tomorrow if you like!

Hello! I have Pinterest as well and have not seen much progress with that. I check back from time to time. Definite writing articles helps with SEO, and I publish mine as a post now. I used to under page and saw a video that suggests post instead. Also, I got an e-mail from someone saying something about social media also helps to get traffic. I haven't tried that yet and am giving that thought. I'm almost a year a WA and am renewing my yearly premium soon. Best of luck to you.
