How To Get Blog Post Ideas From Your Search Engine Visitors

There are several ways to get blog post ideas. Wealthy Affiliate has shown a few strategies to its members, but there are some simple channels to get more ideas. I would like to highlight one such simple strategy that may not bring heavy traffic to your blog, but may give you a virtual monopoly over some keywords.

There is a free WordPress plugin called JetPack. It is a product of WordPress.com and has several features. One of them is to provide your WordPress blog with visitor statistics. For me, the most important statistic is "Search Engine Terms."

This shows the terms people typed into the search engines to get to my site. Google (the machine) thinks my site will give them the information on that particular keyword and placed it in the search result. Now after reading the search result, the searcher (human) thinks my site will give him or her the information he or she needs.

This is where it gets interesting. If I get a visitor for a keyword that I have not written about or mentioned, it means there is a scarcity. There is no one to provide the information so both machine (Google) and human (searcher) desperately turn to me.

This is a big opportunity for an almost sure number one ranking for the keyword. I will then write a keyword optimized article, trying for no less than 500 words with the keyword not more than 4.5% of the content.

The result is additional traffic to my internet marketing site. Now I will get almost everyone that is searching for that keyword. I will have a little 'keyword monopoly. Bear in mind though, that each of these keywords do not usually bring in massive amounts of traffic. However, this strategy will be very valuable if you are in a competitive niche such as internet marketing, weight loss, insurance, health, make money online or pet supplies.

This keyword idea for blog posts has brought me much traffic over time to my blogs. Add it to your keyword research strategy and watch your blog traffic increase.
