Computer Shopping and Back office question

Good evening everyone, as a member of WA a few years back, I've rejoined with rejuvenated aspirations to succeed and never look back.
The platform seems to have changed a tad bit. A couple years ago when I logged into the back office I would see a rectangular box with my site email, posts and indexing or rather posts that had been indexed.
I'm wondering with the new layout how I am able to get this view or maybe it's just because I'm "this far" doing everything on my android phone. That being said, I'm searching for a laptop and will be buying one in the next week or so (or waiting for boxing day sales) and am wondering what spec's I should be looking for when it comes to basic use for wealthy affiliate? I'm not a gamer, I'm not a surfer, I just need a basic computer with a good memory and I like speed. Does anyone do WA on a late model Chromebook? They have accelerated their game this last year and they are cheaper.
