You Will Not Read This

I learned something today about giving comments to a post of our fellow WA members. She used a title to communicate her would be reactions If she will be able to earn $1000.

I noticed that this kind of title would attract a lot of attention and cogratulatory remarks from well wishers and all WA members wanting to earn big bucks. But most of the comments missed the point. Meaning they did not really read the post. Maybe just the title.

It is my fervent wish that all of us would give comments to boost the morale of our WA friends not our ranking.

Just a suggetion. Peace to all.

I know which one you mean and although I did read the entire thing, it was still kind of confusing. Even reading that one small paragraph, I wasn't sure one way or the other.

Now, having said that, I know sometimes, especially with very long posts, people skim and miss the point of the content because they did not read it thoroughly.

I do agree with you though regarding comments NOT just to boost our ranking.

Thanks Debbie for your thoughtful comment.

Great comment, Debbi.

I think to a certain degree we have moved to a "headline" society. People are naturally reading a lot less, and trusting the title of headlines.

If a headline is misleading or click bait, it can lead to the spread of misinformation. It can lead to higher click-throughs.

The problem is for people that actually read the content within a clickbait title or put off by the content if it is not relevant to the actual title. I recommend writing captivating and interesting titles that are relevant to the content (foreshadow), but don't mislead.

I totally agree with you Kyle. Thanks for giving your wise advise that all of us need. Good to hear from you.

I know who are you talking about, and I myself fell for it. She used the word if, but I did not read it thru to get the whole story. The way she put it is like she made the money but in reality she did not. I call that unfair tactics.

Good point! I agree with the ranking, however, occassionally seeing the success of other members is insipiring if I am having a slow bout. I especially like hearing about people's first sucesses and when they reach major succcess, or if people are struggling, I like to see people helping each other out. So I agree, its not about ranking yourself with posts w/in WA (that's a small point in my mind), it's about helping and effecting people positively! Thanks

I totally agree with you. Thanks for your insightful comment.
