The Way My Life Used To Be
Dear Wealthy Affiliate Members,
Some of us here within Wealthy Affiliate have been here for a few years and MORE and used to have a previous existence in other employment.
Yesterday 21st June 2025 I went to a previous employments reunion, I have not seen my previous work colleagues for 30 years. I used to work for a record label and my employment was mainly management in warehouse employment. We shared our stories of sometimes working 14 hours a day and at one point we all worked a 22 hour day to get the stock out of the door to ensure our business thrived and we had continued employment.
It was a good job, we worked hard and showed commitment because we were well looked after, respected, and appreciated in our employment which is where I learned my good work ethics, I will do whatever it takes to get a job completed no matter how long it takes.
Some of those people have now passed away because of various things that happened in the world during 2020 to 2023, but some employees are still fit and healthy and I still see them on a regular basis today.
My previous employment is a far cry from what I am doing now, working full time as a social worker 9 to 5, creating websites on Wealthy Affiliate and learning to use various AI applications on the internet.
I could NEVER go back to the way that I used to work in previous employments, since my attitude to work has changed dramatically now that I am working in Health & Social care
I have come to realise that since being a member of Wealthy Affiliate I have learned quite a lot of new computer skills, HTML, using various AI programmes and how to create posts and pages and improve my writing skills, these are transferrable skills that you can take into any employment.
How has your life changed since leaving your previous employment and moving your new life into a different direction that you never imagined would happen. What new things or skills have YOU learned since leaving your previous employment?

My change resolved around my divorce in 2012. I stayed with my work which was my own Security business where I provided security at a local manufacturer. I significantly increased my publishing to build passive income over the next 2 years.
In 2014, I moved to the Philippines and my publishing became my primary work. I added affiliate marketing to that later.
In 2014, with my move I had 188 titles published. Today, I have 1639 titles published. I can work if I like or take months off at a time and still receive my passive income.
I should have done this a long time ago.

Brian, leaving my current Just Over Broke (JOB) of 10+ years, working 60+ hours a week, is my goal with Wealthy Affiliate. Each day that passes is getting me that much closer to this becoming a reality.
I am 2 years into this journey of 2 hours a day (minimum) and have made great strides.
When that day becomes a reality, we will all celebrate "The Way My Life Used to Be"!
