That's right! I love each and everyone of you from those I follow to those that follow me to those I have yet to meet, I love this community.

Before you read any further I want to state, I don't have any tips here, no secrets to reveal, no advice to give and no pearls of E-commerce wisdom to pass on that will help you on your way to success. So if you would like to stop readding now I will understand. All is forgiven. I also feel at times that I'm wasting precious hours reading other people's blogs, commenting, liking and following, socializing I like to call it.When I should be working on my site, learning, reading and studying. But I'm I wasting my time?

I'm a newbie here and I have risen through the ranks very quickly just by being followed, following, commenting, liking and being liked. I'm still not sure how it works but I know I haven't gotten to the rank I'm at by any knowledge I have because I don't know squat. However I don't care about my ranking as such I've never been a hierarchy kind of guy most people at the top in this world have just been promoted to the level of their incompetence. If you have a boss you'll know what I mean. But have I learned nothing?

I think not. I'm not a very fart smellow but the way Kyle and Carson have structured WA is brilliant.

  • Email - I hate it sometimes, seriously, I just don't want to be bothered. When you log on and find you have twenty some odd blogs, likes and comments you have to go through in addition to whatever trash everybody else sends me. I admit sometimes I let out an audible sigh. But what a great way to get me on the computer to WA everyday, for I would rather answer twenty emails everyday than skip a day and play catch up. I'm lazy and would much rather spend my time dreaming of success than doing anything about it, the WA emails keeps me in line and working even when "I don't feel like it". Something I will have to get used to if I want to own and operate a successful website.
  • Blog Posts - Sometimes I read a blog post that's short and sweet and well, meaningless and that's fine as long as its short, some drone on and on and on and...well you get my point. Some blogs are so slam packed full of links, videos and information it could take you days to get through it all. Again what a great learning tool. You learn by reading other people's blogs the do's and don'ts what you like and what you dislike and what you don't want to put your readers through. It helps to mold your writing style and find your voice. As stated before I'm lazy and I love to write I must have thirty pounds of unfinished song lyrics, short stories and novels lying around. Being forced to write has made me well, write. I've found my voice again, my typing skills have skyrocketed and I feel like I'm doing what I was put on this earth to do. To have a successful blog you have to blog.
  • Comments - Again what a great learning tool. It teaches us to interact with each other to share our knowledge, opinions, hopes, dreams and we all know that sharing is caring. We are able to give each other encouragement and tell someone when they are on a slippery slope. All good websites/blogs are all about the comments and the interaction of the people in that community. A site without comments is just some bag of wind trying to tell how you should think.
  • Liking - If your going to be in this business these days you got to know your social media. I'm sorry I'm old and I just don't get it but by being here at WA I think I'm starting to grasp the concept a bit better. I take it being liked is a good thing and being liked a lot can help your site in ranking just as it can here at WA. I love it when I learn something and don't even know it because if I think knowledge is being rammed down my throat I'll avoid it like a person I don't want to befriend or friend in this case. Great job Kyle and Carson by slipping that one past me.
  • Following - Again with social media type thingy! Just kidding, I saved the best for last, I really love this concept. Following and being followed has saved me. Before I started WA I was in a some what dark place, don't get me wrong I have a wonderful family and all the friends a person could want with more support than I really deserve. However something always seemed missing. Now, here at WA it seems the dark clouds have lifted and I find myself saying things to all of you that I wouldn't say to friends or family just as all of you have been so candid, open and honest with me. If I never make a dime from WA I will still gladly shell out the money to be a premium member it's a lot cheaper than therapy. Thanks again to all who follow me,everyone I'm following and all those I have yet to meet. If I have ever slighted anyone by not following back, liking or commenting I'm sorry I'm an idiot and either forgot to click the button, didn't have anything constructive to say or if it was a question in classroom I probably didn't have a clue about the subject matter as I said I'm a newbie and don't know squat.

Whew, have you had enough? I know I have, the funny thing is, this wasn't the subject I intended to write about, maybe I'll bore all of you with that tomorrow. I'm sorry if I was what my mother calls long winded but if you got this far I thank you. I love each and everyone of you here at WA and when my website grows up I want it to be just like WA.

LET'S HAVE THE BEST NEW YEAR EVER!!!

Jim

Thanks Jim I'm a slow learner too and not to bight at that. Glad you enjoyed the blog would like to do more but recent circumstances have forced me to put my energies else where but things are turning around. Going over to your page to read your blogs now. Thanks and good luck.

Wow, MARK you got this right. Glad to have found you and follow you now. Ha, guess I'm one more in the list and glad our paths have crossed.

Linda

Glad to have met you Linda I am following you also. P.S. I love your profile picture.

You can actually change E-mail notification settings so it doesn't send you that many emails. Go to https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/home/my_profile and scroll down, and uncheck the boxes in front of for instance 'New follower', 'New comments on my profile' and 'New blogs from people you follow'.

What a great post! Thank you Brez. Very candid and full of humor. I was chuckling throughout.:)) I felt like you were speaking my thoughts half the time. When my site grows up, I want it to be just like WA too. I wish you all the best for the New Year :)

I'd have to say, that I feel the same way about email here, but at the same time, there is much to be learned from them too! I have become more selective about what I read though, because there is also Pinterest and Google to contend with, Not to mention finding the time to work on our website, most important task of all.

Loved the read Brez :) thanks for sharing your thoughts and a Happy, Healthy & Successful New Year to you.

Great blog Brez! Thanks for the honesty! I agree with the emails and the social media( I'm a newbie as well) Thanks for the smile! Happy New Year!
