Getting to Level 3

From the bottom to now

So I'm coming to end of Level 2 training and it has been a long journey. I know what you may think. How can 19 simple lessons be a long journey. I view it as I would climbing a mountain. You can get to the first summit and feel a major accomplishment looking down. You have gotten off of the ground level and you can see where you parked your car 2 miles away.

Then you look up. Four more summits until the final ascent to the peak.

Starting Out

During the first two days in my free trial phase, I added a couple of extra posts to my site and played with how I wanted to navigate it. It wasn't an easy choice to go premium because everything in my gut said I should take what I learned on Level 1 and see where it gets me. I have always been a doubting Thomas with everything.

The First Ascent

So what ultimately made up my mind was the comparison of WA as a web host alone. I can get a shared server for a few bucks a month, but it doesn't come with any added security and the support and server speed is nowhere close to what is offered here. Seriously check out Perks of Being Premium. You will definitely pay over 50$ a month for anything close to that.

So, wanting to get a website off of my hard drive and onto a web host, I said there was nothing to lose by joining.

At the Base

So there I was, looking up to the first summit. I can't even begin to describe how fast everything began to come together. Every lesson exercise returned instant results whether it be someone commenting on a post or simply following me on WA. Sending Feedback, Comments, and getting them back has been well worth my investment. When you send feedback on someone else's site, you are also learning through examples of what else you can be doing on your own site.

I built my site based on my niche which is helping people learn to cook like a chef. This is for home cooks and aspiring young chefs alike.

I realized that I was adding things to my site ahead of the lessons. I started adding posts before learning about how to make them more ideal for getting ranked in google. I also affiliated my site with amazon and I still haven't gotten to that detailed lesson yet. But when I do reach the lessons, I go back to edit my posts in order to follow the process that Kyle lays out in the videos.

What really got me was just the other night my site was found by google. So putting together the keyword rich posts and still keeping up with the content I intend to publish paid off. Did I mention it hasn't even been a full week yet. This process does work. If I sound like I'm trying to sell you on the Premium Membership, I don't intend to. This is just my doubting Thomas side coming out and saying "Look! I have no need to doubt this so I'll put my nose to the grindstone and keep climbing the mountain!".

Looking up at the Peak

It's way up there. I haven't asked anything too personal to the Affiliate Member whom I signed up through, but I do know that they are making a full-time living from doing this and they first became a member three years ago. I think that a few years investment of my time and effort is more than worth it. Every case is different and there is no guarantee to success, but this climb looks worth attempting.

My goals for the months to follow will be

  1. keep adding content to my initial site
  2. deligently work my way through the Training Levels
  3. choose another niche and start building it up (practice makes perfect, right?)
  4. hopefully make the required amount of sales to keep my amazon affiliation
  5. Finally, this goes with #4, make my first affiliate commission

So my best wishes to all and good luck!

Congrats Brett. You are off to a great start!

Well done! Keep going!

Sheila

Nice work! And who cares how long it takes as long as you keep moving and do something. It’s taking me a long time too. The first site is going to be my pride and joy but I know it won’t be a big money maker at least not for some time just because of the way I designed it and the subject matter. Because of that I am moving on to a more simpler subject matter and plan to become an Amazon affiliate for that site. We are start at a different level and work at a different pace. I’m still working through phase two. Keep it up and I’m sure it will all start to fall into place.
