Creating customer experience
I am currently doing my M.Sc in Global Management and part of the program is marketing management. As I am a Corporate Communications specialist I knew nothing about marketing and took 2 weeks to learn as much as I can. Here is what I realized:
People do not buy products they buy experiences. I tested this on myself: Do I drive the cheapest car money can buy, no of course not. If I needed a car (personal transportation) the cheapest would be the obvious choice. I need more than just a car (we all do) we need our cars to say something about ourselves to other people, or we want to reward ourselves for our hard work - So our choice of products have a lot to do with our motivation for the purchase, yes it is the functionality of the product but there is more. If this works in marketing normal products it must work online also the only difference is the channel through which we distribute. If we can help our customers create experiences we will be more successful
